Trance tracks that deserve a rework

These days everyone is all about reworks and I don't mind it, but do we really need another rework of "As the Rush Comes"? Anyway, I was curious what trance tracks that have been "outdated" and could use a good rework.

    Here's my list:
Orbital - The Box (a 138BPM trance remix of this would be absolutely awesome)
    Firewall - Touched
BT feat. JC Chasez - Force of Gravity (Ferry Corsten Remix)
Agnelli & Nelson - Holding Onto Nothing
Fire & Ice - Para Siempre
Fire & Ice - Souvenir De Chine
    Orkan - Shibuya
Bossanova - Stonecold (Afterburn Remix) (I have hated all the reworks of this)
Ferry Corsten - Star Traveller (Hydroid Remix)
Armin van Buuren - Yet Another Day

I hate almost every update/rework that has been released in the last couple of years. Lack of creativity.

I would rather see some classics remastered rather than remixed or reworked.

Sun Slip. Give it a better kick but keep the same entrancing vibe as the original. Make sure it actually gets released.

Society London - SPQR. This track never really saw the light of day except for when James Holden played it a couple of times in the early 2000s. Airwave or the Platipus producers could do a good job with this one.

Every track is fair game in my book, as long as it's treated as art. It should give a different perspective to the original or develop the original idea a bit further. Just taking the original melody and slapping a sledgehammer kick to it to "make it fit your sets" (which is complete bullshit btw, but that's another topic) is not art though.

The problem really is that most producers have no idea how to do proper remixes anymore and they have zero respect for music as an art. Their idea of a remix is just loading the midi file to their template project and recreate the same arrangement with their template drum and synth sounds.

I really don't want to hear another track in the 138bpm sledgehammer style in general, let alone a remix of a classic, but if someone with proper trance style (sophisticated approach, attention to detail, great atmosphere, hypnotic sound..) wants to take a go, from the top of my head I'd be interested hearing these tracks remixed:

    Ashtrax - Digital Reason
    Bedrock - Emerald
    BT - Mercury & Solace
    Cygnus X - Positron
    Joker Jam - Innocence
    Paragliders - Paraglide
Push - Till We Meet Again
Push - The Legacy (From this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTs0FBFTEFk not the awful dotted 8th note lead version)
    Way Out West - Ajare
    Way Out West - Domination
    Way Out West - Gift
    + something from "Intensify" album

I actually remixed Positron, you can find it in the User Productions forum. Its an uplifting version, with a more oldschool approach. In my opinion there isnt really a good uplifting version. I dont really like the Armin remix myself.

I completely agree with everything you've just written, even if being guilty of violating these "rules" myself. Luckily, no one was forced to listen to those as they are secretly kept from the audience in an attempt to not lose any respect for me - both the audience and myself.

That said, what did you think about Gai Barone's recent remixes of Ladyblue (there's 4)? I thought that paid quite an homage without being cookie-cutter at all. And maybe while not being the best remixes of it, it still is an example of how classics should be, at the very least, treated.

I'm honestly amused by how you find ways to promote your music outside of the section where it should belong.

Well its in context of the thread - we are talking about how old tracks by e.g. Push can be remade into something different haha. I wouldnt just dump a couple of links in a topic for the fun of it lol.

Yeah - my point exactly. You always find something that links your track(s) to a certain post or a thread title.
