dj experiences
Hi everybody.
In a couple weeks a friend of mine is giving a 'small' birthday-party. Last year there were around 200 people. He asked me whether or not I could play some music in the late hours. Since I am, and probably everybody on this forum is, found of trance/electro/trance/house music, I want of course to play some non-commercial music. However I don't know how people will react on this. What are your experiences on parties where the audience is not really in-to-trance-music. I really want to avoid music from television, like Beyonce or The Black Eyed Peas etc... That would be just sad... On typical local small parties, all the immature girls are incredibly drunk after one glass of beer. But those are the few that will be dancing intensely on this kind of music. Most of the guys are not constantly dancing, so I don't want to screw up the party by losing the female audience, since they only go for the commercial music.
So to make a long story short, what electronic/trance music (I don't want Tiesto for 2 hours long) should I play to please the majority of the audience. If you can give me some tracknames, I can consider those
