I asked ferry that same question he told me they are basiclly 2 reasons: 1. so they can release a bunch of tracks at once (this is due to the fact thaty record label will not allow them to release a bunch of tracks cuz they lose money) and 2 sig. a different genre. (ex. trance, hardstyle, etc.)

what it has to do with is the different type of musc they put out...if you think about lets say Ferry Corsten...his stuff under the ferry corsten name sound nothing like the stuff he produces under the System F name. It has a different feel to it and sounds like a completely different artist....it gets weird though when you have guys release a track under one name and remix it under another...

I recenlty found this Aliases from known Djs that I couldnt believe..

Armin Van Buuren: Amsterdance, Armania, El Guitaro, Gaia, Gimmick, Hyperdrive Inc., Misteri A, Perpetuous Dreamer, Problem Boy, Rising Star, Shoeshine Factory..
Tiesto: Allure, Da Joker, Drumfire, Paradise In Dubs, Tom Ace, Roze, Stray Dog, Tom Ace, Wild Bunch..
Eric Prydz: Cirez D, Moo, Pryda, Sheridan..
    etc..

Its a very interesting discussion anw.. I think they dont want us to identify the real artist, or smth like that

They do that because they want to produce something different than their usual productions. For example a&b are oceanlab with justine suissa! Tiesto's productions sound different than Allure's productions. So it's a way to do something different under an aliase. Mine is Sceptre and The Saints with my mate Eordeja!!

    Two main reasons...

1.) To do tracks with a different flavour/style.
2.) To get people to like their tracks for more than artist-name value.
9 out 10 people agree that 1 person out of 10 won't agree with them...

Absolutely right.....System F is a collaboration with different artists, and they use different genre's!! As far as oceanlab and above & beyond i would say it beacuse of the label releases and singer/artists! Above & Beyond is 3 guys as we all know but oceanlab might be 2 of them same as Aalto and it's a different style of trance!
