    Hip Hop vs Trance

I was listening to Gabriel & Dresden's remix of a Killers tune and I started thinking... Some hip-hop, back then, caught a bad rap (no pun intended) for adding new words to other musican's beats. Some trance, now-a-days, is doing the exact opposite; adding new beats to other musican's words.....thoughts?

I think i know what you mean, producers making "trance/dance" remixs of shitty pop music. I hate it, makes trance look bad

We have the trance and hip-hop battles and comparison threads many times over now. It's getting boring.

You can't compare apples with oranges. Beyoncé looks way better than any DJ you can bring out. Jay-Z and 50 have their stuff that can't be compared to AvB or A&B. The beats are just a fusion mix. Just like how people always fuck sushi up by making it fusion when they don't know it takes at least 8 years to become a sushi chef. Same thing with Dre incorporating house beats into his pieces. G&D just tried to fuse something. Excellent examples are Snow Patrol and Nic Chagall.

I hope to hell that they don't fuse trance and hip-hop in any comparable way. For the love of all. And Killers stand close to American rock btw.

I feel like trance and every other genere has reached a "stale-point". electo has made a come back, and if we look back in time, i'm sure there are many more generes that will make their own come-backs too. what we need is something refreshing, something new...something like when the 80's turned into the 90's...we need a new sound; period, point blank.

Trance wil become crap.. It wont be unique and it will lose its touch and emotional feeling. I feel that artists are starting to push these genres into trance music which is make trance something of the past and thats not what we want...
Check out the Beach + Confectionery groups on TF, there not like others, there much more...

It's not cause Hip-Hop is "shitty" that you can't compare it to Trance. It's just that they're both different things. Plus, it wouldn't be the best place to compare since most tranceheads here will say that their music is the best and all. So you can't really get an objective point of view about this...

HH is HH .... trance is trance - its totally mistake to add one genre to the second

HH is generally rap and slow jigga beat... trance - we know what is it... so we shouldn't discuss wchich genre is better. Everybody has unique style. In this forum I think that everybody loves trance and it's beutiful -- we create fantastic music family

I am not sharing your opinion. I like some "classic" pop tunes becoming more trancy with adding beautiful demo melodies! It isnt always work, but much tries worth!

    yeah, true...

one of the only mixed pop songs i've heard, have and love is "britney spears - everytime (petysab mix)" and it's GOOD!

i say absolutely no to mixing hip hop. it should never be attempted, honestly, trance can't even save that terrible music genre.
