It’s surprising that Vincent De Moor was already present in the early stages of trance, since he only became well-known in the second half of the ’90s — although it’s true that in the early ’90s, trance was still a rather underground genre and he wasn’t working under his own name yet. In 1993, he already had a noteworthy attempt under his Fix To Fax alias with the track Synatic Dream, which turned out quite decent. In the track linked here (Sidewalk – Oasis), those magical sparks and moments that eventually made him one of the greats of trance begin to appear even more clearly — though it still feels like an early experiment, in my opinion. There’s something spacey, ethereal, euphoric about it, yet it seems to lack something, as if it can’t quite unfold fully. The foundation is there, but somehow the journey and catharsis are missing.
