Hello everyone!

After listenting to the Kayosa & Tolland teasers for their forthcoming album, i am very impressed! It sounds old school but still modern and far away from steroid trance. I am glad that this sound still exists in these days. However, I am a bit out of the modern trance scene (I mostly listen to Psytrance and Zenonesque these days). I also like the the current trend of old school north europe sound from the likes of Omformer, Mikkel Rev or Alvar a bit, but it's not really my cup of tea....

So for any recommendations regarding the headline, I would be very grateful. :)

You should check out some of Trancefix's home grown talent here on the forum.
@Jetflag (aka Aerium/Avalon 62), @Julian Del Agranda , @Narel , @Super-Frog Saves Tokyo , @Magdelayna , @Sunda , @MarnixMulder & myself all have a good appreciation for both oldskool and modern sounds and look to avoid a lot of the template sounding trance that floods a lot of the Beatport charts. I'm probably missing a load of others on here as well.

@Hugh Tolland & @EnigmaState both post here on the odd occasion as well, maybe they have some recommendations as well!

Kinda similar to Activa's label Borderline Music, check out Yanada Recordings.

On a side note, I'm a bit sad there weren't any more releases on Borderline lately. Been pretty obsessed with that label and their stellar radio show. Yanada has been filling in the void for that though :)

Hoopoe is another name I would check out.

Also worth going through the top TF 100 from the last few years. You'll have to sift through and find the style you want, but there's loads of that kind of style peppered throughout....

Best of 2025

I also thought Activa's EoY mix for us in 2021 was great for that kind of style...

2009 to 2011 were probably the worst years for trance imo

Easteria, Create Music (some of them are non steroid), and Kolours (only releases Technikal’s track, though)
