I always noticed that the average producer's path with its ups and downs could be compared with for example sportsman's career, like football player who has his prime seasons at some point, some in their earlier years, some even closer to retirement

of course, normally the artist's career lasts longer but in most cases you can still pick some time frame, like a year or a couple of years when they made their finest records and the avegare quality of tracks, musical ideas in them, is higher than during the rest of the path

with those considered trance legends, in most cases it wound be early 00s or so but some managed to have their 2nd breath like Solarstone around 2012 when he began his Pure Trance movement, one of the rare trends that grow into something much bigger than Twitter hashtags

also, Giuseppe Ottaviani is a great example, his mid-2010s stuff on Black Hole was prime compared to what he's been making in the recent years (he still releases some cool tunes, but the consistency is gone)

so I'm curious what would be your examples and the overall view of the concept

probably the best example I can think of is M.I.K.E. - was probably my biggest musical influence growing up but ever since "Chocolate Infusion" (which was brilliant btw) I think he massively fell off and it sounds like he's barely trying nowadays. his tracks now sound like an amalgamation of very obvious presets and have none of those big moments I used to love

yeah Mike's had an extreme downshift all of a sudden, I doubt it's just something music producing related that caused it, has to be something like life changing, not in a good way in this case
