Sounds ok but its just too close to a kamaya painters (or some other classic i cant figure out now) melody for me. And the drums/kick qnd hats are too minimal/rigid/broish for me

Overall its pretty OK.

Breakdown melody is lovely, balearic vibes, was hoping to continue the same after the breakdown though!!

Facade can I ask an honest question. Why are your kicks, and frankly all kicks in this progressive scene, highly robotized and overpowered when compared to all the progressive music pre 2010? Like we know that the most loved and celebrated prog music from 2000's has exclusively organic kicks and are way more toned down in the mix. Do you not appreciate that and get why it worked so well and why it was so well received? I'm not trying to be facetious, this is a genuine enquiry. Are you deliberately trying to not be "stuck in the past" and move on from those sounds, or is it technically just not something you have figured out how to do? You have an amazing melody and vibe in your track here and the percussion is incredibly attacking and plastic. It's just not nice to listen to. And this is not aimed just you, it's every single god damn producer in the trance progressive scene. Its like we have the recipe for perfect prog in the form of 10 years of musical content but instead we get 20 years of tracks that never land in the same way. I just cant accept this is a taste thing.

Up to number 10 in the raw/deep trance chart and played on Solarstone and PVD's latest shows. Thanks to everyone who bought it!

I know I know, I have to have my fun though. Ehh well if you're not feeling this one then don't worry it's not some new direction I'm going in but me and Gareth (sinful biz) definitely wanna do more stuff together. For a bit of extra context I'm not one of those producers who follows any particular trends and I'm definitely not interested in any perceived notion of traditional "success", I just make what I want when I want. This one came about as originally I was gonna do a long chicane style Balearic trance with a nice smooth breaks intro, I wrote most of the musical elements but then I got bored/hit a wall with it. Around the same time I shared a bunch of ideas with Gareth (I have about 30 half finished tracks right now, about half are trance/prog and the rest are house, Industrial/deep techno and some breaks) and he came up with this. It's definitely not trying to be prog. I'm a producer of music, never wanted to be just trance as I have no respect for a one trick pony plus I enjoy a real challenge. So I realise that maybe doesn't exactly answer your question but hopefully it explains a bit more about me as a person and what my thought process is like, happy to elaborate on anything. Oh and one last thing, I really don't understand the common criticism on here of "drums sound robotic", that's like daysleepers default setting. Yeah if you make music in a perfectly quantised DAW that's pretty common. I wish I could be more like John Bonham but I ain't

you're welcome

I quite like it. As mentioned in the ISOS20 thread, this is one of my standout tracks.

The breakdown is lovely, it has a nice balearic touch. And I love how it builds up into a “hands-in-the-air” moment and then BAM! Back at it again.

I could dance endlessly with this without getting bored! 😄
