So, no topic yet huh?

On social media, there was a lot of attention for Tiesto, who put on his old font, used during his Innercity 1999 era. He emptied his instragram with a countdown to a show where he would supposedly play a trance set... so social media was building a lot of hype.

Here's the newest release.

Essentially a mixture of Anyma & Grimes - Welcome to the Opera (that vocal hook at 0:51 is VERY similar) with your typical bleep-bloop festival trance that Armin's been feeding us for years

ironically enough, it does feel better than Armin's tracks of this style, I suppose Tiesto's agency were probably more demanding from whoever produced this tune than Armin does for his ghost producer(s)

but yeah it's nothing special of a track really

It’s actually not all that bad,
Don't you think the kick is very ugly though. The hard punchy mid-frequency part is so loud, it's penetrates through the track way too much. POINK POINK POINK. So ugly. (Plof is the dutch word I'd use. It plofs in there, without energy, just plof plof, bonk bonk, it's ugly).

But I do agree, it's a listenable radio-trance track. The vocal is nice. The melody is better than Armin's radio-trance-hits. Although the synth is a bit too modern-bleepy for a Tiesto-return-to-trance track, but it's OK.

All in all it's a bit meh though, the beatwork is really empty. There's the smallest of small closed hihats, the clap is kinda lifeless. And then there are a few VERY SILENT white noise type of closed hats on the 16th notes, you can hear them in the end. So little effort in this part.

So... if you don't overanalyze it, it's more than okay to listen to. If you listen close... the production is kinda meh. Don't put attention on it.

Okay… not a trash but if we’re talking about „return to trance” - huge laugh. Hope that collab with BT will be more quality.

PS. Vocal part sounds like it’s inspired by Anyma & Grimes - Welcome To The Opera.

Co-producer of this track is Jørgen Troøyen, who made tracks for… Armin’s „Breathe” album: „High On Love” and „Love Is A Drug”. Expect a collab 😅🤪

Oh im listening to this one phonespeakers m8.. no idea if it’s up too snuf studio wise.

its more the overall concept, vox is nice I think.. bass/kick relation works. Ti lead is basic but works etc.

Considering how underwhelming his ISOS EDC set was (just a bunch of old ISOS tracks with a sterile commercial ArmadaTrance paintjob), this is par for the course of what I expected. Don't think I'll be tuning in any further

Seriously, don't get your hopes up. BT loves his glitchy noise and electro sounds too. I doubt we will get Break My Fall or Love Comes Again. They are all burnt out or lost practice in making proper melodic and memorable dance and or Trance track. I doubt we will get something like Mercury & Solace or Flaming June.

Agreed. Better than armin.

I think it will get less cheesy soon enough waiting for a non vocal track.

If he wants proper electro trance then he should take notes from the old Ferry Corsten - Beautiful is the best electroish trance ever made.

Us Chinese trance lovers had a lot of discussion about this track last night, and our view of it is more negative than here. We think this is only a common Future Rave or some Anyma stuff, Armin tracks like this are better.

(and lot of us start to agree with Jorn)

Didn't he (Jorn) also quit making Trance music too? I agree with his statement though and why now? Just because his friends are trying to jump on it and trying to butcher the trance name and sound with their electro house/big room garbage.
