Huh, had no idea they were the same guyI tried to get him back to the Trance music 5 few years ago but he wasn't into it anymore. Made a remix for my track though.
Contacted him again this summer, no reply unfortunately.
He's producing Ambient these days as Jani R:

I wonder why. I have no artistic bone in my body so I can't understand what it takes to be a musician like him, or the journey you must go on, but how after having such a deep connection with this music can you suddenly never have that urge to go again, even once. Do tastes really change this drastic. I have never experienced it myself. His music was so special, the connection must be strong to do what he did, it is sad it is gone.
The ambient track is nice
Indeed, it's a shame. This is what I wish today's nu trance sounded like, especially given how much everyone on this site raves about it. This is the real deal! This was actually one of the first tracks I came across when I was taking my first steps into trance (or electronic music for that matter). It was a free download in a local music service
I guess there was not really all that much demand for this kind of sound unfortunately...
A lot of the prog house scene sounds like this, though at a slower tempo. And that scene is stallllllllle like 10 day old bread. While NuTrance is many artists and many sounds, you are right in that very few build out melodies slowly like this, with a lush break. NuTrance like that really sticks out. This recent gem reminds me of this track a little, but yeah, less emphasis on melody.Indeed, it's a shame. prog house? They're both Psychedelic Goa!A lot of the prog house scene sounds like this, though at a slower tempo. And that scene is stallllllllle like 10 day old bread. This one too
I didn't say these two examples are prog house, lol. I was hinting that this Incolumnis track sounds like what the prog house (aka prog trance) space is pumping out, just with less quality, with the same kicks. This sound IMO developed in to what we hear from JOOF, Forescape.prog house? They're both Psychedelic Goa!
This is what I automatically assume about producers who used to make very good music but then quit. It's too much effort spending dozens, if not hundreds of hours crafting a song that ultimately no one hears. It's about the outcome I guess. When you've been doing something for years and it doesn't bring you anything, you question yourself, why do I still do it?
