    Classic Trance Historical Breakdown [1987-2007]

Look, if we're really going to do that, then probably most post-1998 Trance stuff, especially the more Epic-Euro-Euphoric and Vocal Trance stuff would probably go out because people were already complaining about the so-called "Watered down McTrance" since those times, I mean, Ferry was...

    Classic Trance Historical Breakdown [1987-2007]

It depends on the kind of Trance we're talking about. Once again, I'm not seeing that, I think everything is pretty much well-adjusted there. Beautiful Things is tremendous! One of my all-time favourite Post-Progressive Vocal Trance tunes!

    Classic Trance Historical Breakdown [1987-2007]

One could say it might be a bit poppier and more commercial-accessible than other tracks released at that time, but I never really saw it as cheesy, even to this date I still consider it a tremendous tune and I personally think it has aged quite well, I could still listen to it these days and it...

Video streams are net negative for Trance shows

Gen Z is very inconsistent, if you ask me.

I don't think Above & Beyond are that picky regarding that. I mean, their videos of their Group Therapy radioshow usually only have small snippets of some livesets they did, the only videos they do are for livesets, not really for regular GT episodes.

What really annoys the crap out of me regarding, for example, current ASOT is the fact that from time to time Armin is going to stop the music to scream: "HOW ARE YOU DOING, AMSTERDAM?!" and I'm like: "Shut up and just play the music." But, in any case, I think video streams are pretty much...

    Classic Trance Historical Breakdown [1987-2007]

I completely disagree that tracks like As The Rush Comes or Beautiful Things are "cheesy" and/or "commercial", while both tracks have a strong focus on their vocals, I think both tracks have tremendous productions and have in general aged quite well, probably even more so than most Epic Trance...

    Classic Trance Historical Breakdown [1987-2007]

Your perspective is interesting, but I have to disagree with some things: I don't think Cascada or Groove Coverage have ever had anything to do with Trance, if you ask me. I mean, their music was somewhat inspired by Euro-Trance which was popular at the time but they were never really fully...

Shocking stuff that destroys what was once our trance scene

We already know that neither Tiësto nor Paul van Dyk have ever produced their own music much.

Shocking stuff that destroys what was once our trance scene

I like listening to music in different languages and I like Japan and its culture therefore a Vocal Trance track in Japanese sounds great to me.

Petition - Big DJs like Armin van Buuren should stop labelling themselves as "Trance Djs"

I wouldn't say he's "crap", but yeah, musically speaking his music is definitely not as spectacular as it used to be back in the late 90's to early 2000's. As for Armin still thinking he's the "Trance God", I personally think this was one of the main reasons why Trance Music took a turn for the...

Shocking stuff that destroys what was once our trance scene

I think it's much worse here in Portugal when I have to explain people I don't actually listen to Psy-Trance (at least not in a regular basis), but rather to Euro/Epic/Progressive/Vocal Trance.

Did trance ever have any "scandals?"

I'm sorry, with all due respect, but what is your basis for that? And why does music, and in particular, Dance music, has to be politicised like this? Shouldn't music, and in particular, Trance Music, be an escape from what we perceive as the bad problems of society? Are you really going to be...

Leave politics out of music, please!

Sure. Check out the third page on the "Did Trance ever have any scandals?" thread on the "Music Discussion" subforum, and you'll see that some people are clearly mixing politics with music.

Leave politics out of music, please!

And I'm perfectly fine with it! But I think some people here don't seem to understand that, and sometimes mix the two where they're not supposed to be.
