JOOF talking about his label's latest release on his FB page:

'I simply cant get enough of this EP, proper heads down driving hypnotic goodness> I dream for tracks like this, its so rare to come across them, Alex Morelli we need more of this please.'

I respect the guy but don't know what he's on about. Every other release on his label sounds similar to this, flat bassline, dark atmospheric sounds, etc. We need more variety John, not more of the same.

I don't think it's him posting those posts on JOOF recordings facebook page. I used to be an admin on Airwave's fanpage too :p

So when you said that you worked for Airwave long ago (I remember!), this was what you actually meant?

Yeah, I used to admin his facebook page for a while but I allowed him to do the 99.99% of the things on there. But I used to help him with his website and uploading his Progrez show on soundcloud as well. But that stopped because Australia internet speed is way too slow he hasn't been the same since his personal relationship fallout. A lot of people have screwed him over and used his generosity to their advantage but when it came time for Airwave they would not go through great lengths to help him. At least Armin allowed Airwave to appear a guest mix.

If the JOOF guys cranked up the darkness and got a rapper on these tracks I would be interested in listening.
Otherwise, meh.

I think releases like this could benefit if it came with a faster paced remix, like from Ovnimoon or Digital Blonde or something. Not that the originals are bad but just to spice things up.

Yeah, I wouldn't say they were bad either. They're actually quite decent for that kind of style but the overall vibe tends to be very similar on the label.

Why not mix it up a bit or spice it up, like you say. Offer a variety of moods and atmospheres.

Sorry, what? Prog-house-rap is not a combo that should ever abuse our ears, that's a terrible idea.

These tracks need something thats for sure. They're not even bad they're just nothing.

It would at least elicit a reaction, even if it's repulsive.

As you pointed it out correctly, these tracks are nothing and offer 0 value to the listener. I'd rather hear random mumble rap over these tracks than the way they are right now.
