I will never beatport samples posted in threads. Anyone else? Its just so short and low sound quality that I don't see any value in it. Part of me is tempted to have a rule where threads can only be started when a longer sample is out, either youtube, soundcloud or a section from a mix...
But this might be just me. Are people quite happy to get the first teaser of a track this way, or would you also prefer if threads have proper samples before created?
Certainly prefer Beatport to sets/mixes, for the speed and convenience factor. For quality though, if someone recorded a set on their old Nokia 3310, it would still sound better than Beatport.
Soundcloud sometimes doesn't work for me, the embed doesn't play any sound. One of these days I checked a thread with 3 Soundcloud embeds, and I swear to God only one would play sound.
Bandcamp's embed UX is honestly the most crap out of these, but at least the (both sound and music) quality and play times are consistent.
Youtube still the GOAT.

Overall, I'd much prefer quality in the upcoming section, than the medium on which it's played. Regarding length though, I have very little patience nowadays for any of the usual nonsense regarding promos etc. I pretty quickly determine if I'm gonna like something or not, so for me 30 seconds and 10 minutes are the same.
Sorry, not much help here, just ranting.
