Mac Zimms - L'Annonce Des Couleurs [1997]

One of the highlights from Tiesto's Magik 1.
L'Annonce Des Couleurs is fairly unique. It has a vibe/aesthetic that I haven't really seen elsewhere. It hits that sweet spot between mid-1990s progressive trance and late-90s anthem trance while also being extremely catchy.



2003 The Mystery Remix: this is very different from the original and is basically a standard Ron van den Beuken track, but it's still nice to hear.

I was thinking of posting this track as well. The Vincent de Moor remix rocks too.


Mac Zimms is for me the godfather of the tech trance sound but he could fuse it superbly with the uplifting sound too.

I absolutely love all his stuff from mid/late 90's to mid/late 2000s. I have a feeling he stopped producing in the late 2000s. His other aliases like Incisions had a more prog sound but were superb too. What a talent.

Just heard Sunburst by Mac Zimms, and it basically has the same melody as L'Annonce Des Couleurs?!


Is that melody taken from somewhere? L'Annonce Des Couleurs is unusually good, and much higher quality than his other productions. Not sure why he would revisit it one year later for a different track.
