Norwegian producer Terk Dawn transforms into Divinity of Mind to bring a huge work to the main blue imprint: Alpha Centauri.

The original mix is landed around a haunting, classically shaped theme sequence. Misty layers, driving percussion, high octane gliding pads, and a mesmerizingly charming top line are the order of the day from Terk Dawn.

Norwegian duo Vascotia comes back to the scene after 10 years of absence. Their mix put Alpha Centauri into sports gear with an almighty touch of pace and a variety of holy and classically cut sounds! Borrowing the fantastically well-written theme from the original, Vascotia casts their own magic onto it, proposing a rocket-fuelled lead, enchanting choirs, a vibrant sequence section, and affluence of power and vitality!

Lastly, Six Senses returns to Blue Soho with his very own rendition of Alpha Centauri. Six Senses' mix really highlights the melodic characters of this track with an enormous breakdown and uplifting trance groove. This mix is just dripping with energy and positive aura qualities and rounds off this release perfectly.

Terk Dawn and Vascotia, names I haven't seen since 2008. Is this a unreleased track that Blue Soho picked up? They did the same with Winkee - Beautiful Morning.

I am friends with TerkDawn on Facebook. I remember a while back he posted a photo of him working on this track.

Anyway, I’m super pumped for this. Really excited to see Vascotias name too! Maybe we will get a new track with him and FKN.

Vascotia very nice when everything comes together, and the part around 2:40 onwards I especially like.

You're gonna roll your eyes at me @BlueSoho when I say this but some of your past releases I have criticised for being too muddy sounding, not spacious with the different ranges being lost, or just not sounding 'right' to me. In this release I find the opposite to be true, too clean, tightened and sharp so that the synths can come off as feeling too generic and processed. The main synths used in the original especially and also that drum roll in the Vascotia remix at 1:28 for sure. It feels basic and cheap to me.

However I will take overly clean over muddy any day of the week, and actually the low ends in the Original I enjoyed. In fact the musical ideas is all the tracks I thought were good, as is often the case with your releases.

We are always eager to hear criticism over our releases, so do not worry about it.

As an indie label with a limited budget, our A&R system is pretty simple: We sign the tunes we like to listen in first place. Our squad is working on several different projects (for example, I started a new ambient house / broken beat label called Oath last year where we press limited vinyl too) and realized how much difference it makes when you work with professional mixing and mastering engineers while completing the EP or album. We seriously considered shutting the Blue Soho down since the demos we get are always sub-par meanwhile, to stay relevant in the scene, you have to "release" something without putting too much space between them.

The sound quality of our releases is vastly different because some of the producers we work with have excellent knowledge about self-mixing and preparing the tune for mastering; meanwhile, others can write unique melodies, but their technique is not flawless (a great example would be Hoyaa) we respect both parties a lot and try to give a chance as much as possible. Please note that; we are always at a negative profit when we sign tunes with advance fees (from names like Daniel Kandi) and before signing the tune we always know it's going to be negative. This means our label is not a corporate business but more like a hobby. If we could find more sources, I am pretty sure the tunes you call "muddy" would sound better with mixing and mastering from scratch but we barely stay alive on the scene and we are sorry if we cannot bring a standard quality on our releases. We are going to try our best though :)

Dont get me wrong, I really enjoyed this release. And I totally get the limitations and reality of running a label in today's scene and everything you said makes sense. Glad you are here and doing this, even though there is nothing financially in it for you.

Did you have a role in bringing back Vascotia, Funabashi, Terk Dawn etc, or do they come to you?

Liking all three mixes. Sounds like an old Daniel Kandi track but more polished, clean and modern. Look forward to the full versions.

No worries mate, you know doing this just for the sake of listening to good trance and chasing it as much as I can.

Funabashi, Kamil Polner, Samuelzone, Mike Shiver's Catching Sun, Monogato, Terk Dawn, Kaveh Azizi, George Hales, Sonicvibe (for me, his release one of our most underrated releases) I tracked all of them on social media and the internet and tried to convince them to produce "one more" for the fans. Failed on bringing back Hydroid and Envio, Carl B, and Kimito Lopez. I got a small demo from Hydroid and it has great potential though. There was a chance to have a new Sebastian Brandt track then I learned he was already active in the scene with his ghost producing :) I thought he left music like others.

Terk Dawn succeeded to bring Vascotia back, I did not ask how but looks like they are really tight friends with Six Senses too.

That is disappointing to hear both Hydroid, lopez Carl b and Envio are not coming back. It might be due to spending time with their families. Can you try to get MK-S back?

More of this that breakdown is something we would love to hear more even though this is originally from 2006 which was featured in ASOT episode 238 and a FF in episode 239
