TF Radio #19 - The Best Of: JOOF Recordings - Katadunkass

Welcome along good people and thanks for joining us on this new series/concept, which we have been cooking for quite some time! Every once in a while a new idea starts growing and when we all have that funny feeling in our pants, it's time to grab it (The idea, calm down everyone) and go with it - so, what is this new concept, which we 100% came up with ourselves and no one has ever done before? Well, it's time to introduce..... drum roll please....

THE BEST OF

I know, what an original idea - I can almost FEEL your excitement - "What is this BEST OF " you're talking about oh dear lord, what am I supposed to do with it?" Well, first off, all you have to do is just sit back and listen: Nothing else! Second; This is all about providing you the very best different labels have to offer and for this very first "The Best Of", we wanted to give you one of our favourite labels back in the "good old days" - we give you:
JOOF RECORDINGS!

Now, I already know what you're thinking: "Wait, if this is "THE BEST OF", why isn't x-track included? WHAT THE HELL" - and believe me, I do have a version of this mix where that specific track is included, but this is 50% track selection and 50% flow - it just didn't fit, okay! I truly tried, you must believe me!

Ahem, sorry... so, back to JOOF Recordings; Back in the days we all got super excited when a new JOOF release got announced and with good reason; The tracks back then actually had melodies! But, to narrow it all down and make it a bit easier for us, we also decided on a certain era of JOOF Recordings, so all of these tracks are from 1999 to 2014 - why those years? Well, we had to stop somewhere.

Grab a snack, pour a drink, get your headphones on, turn on your speakers and enjoy this 3 hour ride throughout the early years of one of our favourite labels back then; JOOF Recordings! Expect PLENTY of edits, small enhancements and re-arrangements of individual tracks and lots of love.

I will take this for my vacation drive next weekend. this label was a big influence for me getting into the music i follow today and i have been lucky to see John perform on a number of times when he comes to south america. i never listened to asot or anjunabeats in those days, only joof. his radio show was the one that spoke to me because no one else did it like him. psy-trance was always big in Chile, but his uk style was more deeper and had a journey for you to go on, not just goa power (which I enjoy too)

Christ I missed this one, looks bloody brilliant. JOOF has to be one of the best labels ever imo. I remember being most hyped about the label in like 2010 actually, and for a long time after. Airwave and his Atlas Winds era hooked me straight in and then rode the wave for 6 or 7 years before getting back into the trancier side of things again and switching to other labels. Will get blast the daylights out of this one today. The missus picked the wrong day to work from home.

Well, out cutoff was 2014, damnit! Next time I will make a "The Best Of: Facade"-mix just for you <3
Maybe do a part 2 - which reflects the back catalogue and part 3 can represent the post golden era.
