I was considering going to Luminosity for the first time next year, primarily because of the trance classic stage. However, after seeing the tracklists, I've changed my mind. What's the point of having such a stage if the DJs don't play the music it's intended for? And why the fuck would they book someone like Ram for that stage?
yep, I also didn't attend this Lumi, in first place cause it's too expensive for me, secondly - the lineup..

I'd be SO frustrated to see one of my most anticipated names for this event - York >ISOS classics set<, doing this on >Classics Stage<:
1. Reachers of civilization - he didn't even play it fully, only inserted the vocal part at the beginning and proceeded with rank 1 - the awakening as the first track (which, by the way, did NOT appear in any of ISOS compilations and doesn't have the ISOS vibe). I'd be pissed not hearing my favourite York tune in its full glory;
2. He played a bunch of classics like Did You Hear Me (Part 2) (probably most interesting track of the set), and again the overplayed Amsterdam, Synaesthesia, Kaycee's Escape, Pulverturm , og Gouryella-Gouryella....that's ok although would expect something more exquisite...;
3. and now the worst part. it's the only Luminosity set which had to have In Search Of Sunrise >classics< in it, right? Well, he played Alexander Popov - When The Sun from 2012 (supporting russian artist + not a classic), and worst of all - Cafe Del Mar, On The Beach and The Age Of Love in MODERN remixes and The House Of House + Universal Nation in techno remixes which get usually played at techno events. Like wtf.

Tired of the artists playing MODERN trance at CLASSICS stages, at presumably the only event on EARTH where there is a classics stage.

I even made a meme about this 2 days ago:

Played by York on Luminosity. Really enjoyed his set when I was there and this track was the highlight for me. Thank god for the tracklists websites. There were not many people on the dancefloor yet unfortunately

Lisa Hannigan - Knots ...

It was early in the morning
We were sitting on the stoop
There wheeled away a starling
And I thought that I would too
Oh, for all I knew
I was lost through and through ...

Love you, Lisa! Love you so much ...

Jeff Mills - The Eyewitness (Axis AX117, 2 x 12” Vinyl, 2024)

Vinyl Track Listing:
A1. In A Traumatized World (6’37”)
A2. Menticide (5’50”)
B1. Those Who Worked Against Us (6’11”)
B2. Mass Hypnosis (4’25”)
C1. Hold And Command (6’04”)
C2. Wonderous Butterfly (5’31”)
D1. Sacred Iridescent Mirror (The Pledge) (5’05”)
D2. In A Traumatized World (Human Toll Mix) (1’38”)
D3. Indoctrination (5’31”)

I have listened to this just now. This is again a powerful and innovative album by Jeff Mills, with intricate compositions and profound themes. It often evokes a vivid, almost cinematic atmosphere. This is undeniably original Mills and not a copy of anything known—it is futuristic and deep. For me, it is one of the most interesting releases of the month. Check it out!
