I need to say I'm pretty surprised and excited about the new Electrovoya Remix (and Andy Hagerty's own chill version as well)

Mmm, not sure.
The first thing that comes to mind is that it sounds like its sped up and it was supposed to be a little slower and he decided to speed it up afterwards. Apart from that I dont find this that musically compelling/interesting and production is this mix of 70% modern 30% (probably all modern software/plugins/synths but tries to emulate older instruments) old which doesnt work imo. It sounds both dated and bad, a weird clashing inconsistent type of sound imo. I remember Electrovoya released some old/er sounding tracks a couple years ago, and on some of them they nailed the production/sound better than here, but they also sounded like this old/new combo which is completely off-putting imo. Especially these really clean basses/kicks combined with older synths. Oldschool touches in a modern production never works imo, atleast in 98% of the attempts.
