what is the niche of tech-house then? groove? Doesnt really have much of that either.
'Tech House' is dedicated for the dancefloor.. best known for simplicity and effectiveness, tracks are build around basic ideas, simple kick, snare, few percusions and groovy bassline. 'House' tunes are more or less extended songs, 'Tech House' leaves this structure and takes -for the floor- vibe from 'Techno'.
ofc there is a huge variety of sounds, I mostly love deep and dubby 'Tech House' tunes.. in the late 2000's went the genre really downhill for me, but worlwide was very successful. if you look at 'Beatport' you will find mostly C list or D list quality, its hard to find really exciting tracks
here my biggest alltimer in the genre:
The Persuader - What Is The Time, Mr Templar? [Svek] 1997
in the modern era is 'Delano Smith' my favorite 'Tech House' producer, here is a more soulful example from this year
Brian Kage - Detroit Techno City (Delano Smith Remix) [Michigander] 2025
