Courtesy of Ben Nicky and ARTY, Oxygen is an unbelievably catchy interpolation of Chicane and Bryan Adams Dont Give Up, which went #1 in the U.K. From the recognizable melody to the fresh vocal and modern, electrifying production, this high-energy rendition is bound to conquer the airwaves and summer dance floors alike.

I actually agree with all the criticism here. I am not a fan of this too. Just posted how they ruined classic. As someone who has a lot of respect for Chicane’s legacy and the original Don't Give It Up with Bryan Adams, this "Oxygen" version is really messed up. It another case of speeding things up and slapping on a modern drop without preserving the soul of the original. Also artists like ARTY and Chicane involved, it just doesn’t carry the emotional weight or subtlety that made the original so special. Not every classic needs a modern festival flip.

maybe it makes sense to have a "terrible classics updates" thread in the music discussion forum and post all of these in there instead of separate threads for each in the releases section

Going Deep and chicane
I actually didn’t mind Going Deep as it was at least an original production/experiment. Nick always has been occasionally dipping his toes in something new whether that was Celtic Chants, more guitar/ rock songs in Summersault etc.

there was something genuine and creative about it even though it’s not my cup of tea.

this latest “collab” however is non of that
