who screwed over his friend’s tour.
Here's the thing with that.
Personally I'm not a fan of either artist, but the idea that he 'screwed over' Sheeran's tour intentionally doesn't hold water.

If Sheeran and his management team had told him and the other support acts in advance to keep their personal politics away from their acts, then Macklemore went and defied that with his Free Palestine bit, then I'd completely understand his removal from the tour.
But that's not what happned.

Macklemore played 2 support slots for Sheeran over 2 nights and you would assume did the whole free Palestine bit in both.
There was no issue after the first night, it only became a problem when Robert Kraft shit his pants over it and put pressure on Sheeran's tour manager after the second night.

The tour manager bowed to pressure from an event host and instead of supporting his fellow artist, Sheeran was happy to go along with it and is now playing the victim.

In the trade union world, he'd be known as a 'scab'

In either/ All case: The proverb "Never discuss politics or religion at the dinner table" rings true. Yes you can if you must/ want too, but you will alienate people regardless of what position you take.

I don't think Sheeran (and/or his alleged "mossad management") should have cancelled Macklemore over one fuckup though, (he could have simply asked him to not every do that on his tour again)

But he is correct in not letting others politically color his gigs for him, without his consent.
that is honestly pretty charitable towards Macklemore

Interesting perspective. I didn’t know Macklemore potentially did the free Palestine bit at an earlier show

from what I gathered from it Mackelmore only did it once, but then again like you I don't follow the whole drama that closely.

if it was indeed a spur of the moment thingy then yeah, bit much to cancel an entire rest of the tour for that...

On the one hand it kinda reminds me a bit of the whole Mau5 v Schossow back in the day: "but muh management team didn't find it appropriate" but on the other and Ed's so called victimhood: he comes across to me as a very kumbaya-esq conflict avoiding persona, especially as a troubadour. So when your management team pops op and is like "this is going to be massive trouble because x, we're cutting it.. then what to do? you're in the middle of a tour, you hardly have any say about program setup let alone attendence.....Fire your whole management team then and there?

in the aftermath Ed lost a couple of thousand subs and mackelmore is sort of relevant again for a week I suppose.

Argentinian President Lying in France

During his hour-long speech, Milei defended the results of three years of austerity policies and expressed optimism about his victory in the 2027 presidential election, in which he is seeking re-election for a second term. He also said that his government would not change its economic course or increase public spending ahead of the election.

According to the publication, since Milei took office in late 2023, annual inflation in Argentina has fallen from 161% to 33%, public finances have been balanced, and foreign currency reserves have partially recovered. At the same time, in the first half of the year, the poverty rate rose to nearly one-third of the population, while the economy contracted by 0.6% in April-June amid declining consumption and investment.

Milei links Argentina’s investment opportunities to disruptions in hydrocarbon supplies to Europe following the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, an aggressor state, and the war in the Middle East. He also said that the previous Argentina Week event had generated investment announcements worth more than US$16 billion.

Everything is really bad here in Argentina..

Inflation is much higher, but they only put 33 there because it's a Masonic number.

ofcourse, you had a peronist/defacto socialist government with heavy state intervention, price controlls, subsidies, redistribution and an overall command economy.. you're not going to fix that overnight being only 3 years in office 😄

now Milei might over exhadurate his successes to boost a new term (like all politicians do), but its undeniable that in the period he has been in office inflation fell compared to previous administrations, povery lowered and macro stabilization is very real.

does that mean all is honkey dory and on track chat that? ofcourse not.

I am saddened that prime minister 'Jetten' didn't do a 'Rutte' (during Covid) on national television by declaring 'There will be enough toiletpaper, you can still shit at home'. Most memorable thing I have ever seen on tv. What a time to be alive.

Well then again...he did brighten my day by thinking he's going to force Trump to cancel Russian Diesel deal.

I haven't laughed so heartily in quite a while.

Hup Rob! you go Queen 😄

I find it very amusing that you believe in other people's governments... when I'm telling you they go around lying about the number 33...

---

I have total respect for your taste in music, but how can you expect me to respect you if you believe that those who lie to you are trying to change your life?
My very serious question in all of this is... are people stupid or do they just care about doing well for themselves?

BE READY (CLIC HERE BOT)

If you really think about what's best for you, it's not within the realm of economics... If I were an exploiter of labor, I would use human beings as the perfect tool, but you're not thinking correctly, because you are the tool of exploitation.

I know very well what's happening in your daily life... it's plagued by fear... believing that nothing can solve it... and as if that weren't enough, the Argentine soccer players displayed a banner with the slogan "THE MALVINAS ARE ARGENTINE."
Then I go and watch the news... all I see is outrage, and it generates even more hatred towards Argentina... to go even further, my news channel says that Argentina wants to falclands islands... (enter into a new armed conflict).

nonthing of this happened...
