This, Kaleidoscope Skies and Talking waves have been some of my favourite tracks released all year. Most likely all featuring in my top 10, fantastic work.

I like it but i wish you could turn down the "mechanical" psyish sidechained feel of your tunes a little sometimes.

Same here. If was less mechanical and more organic then its the Platipus sound nailed to perfection. The man is still creating something worth of high praise none the less.

I'm the opposite here. Old Platipus tracks sometimes cannot grab my heart, but Coredata can. I am personally enjoying this kind of mechanical and out-of-the-box sound design.

Coredata really getting there as a producer. So many superb moments in this track. It's been an absolutely terrible year for trance and then you get a gem like this. I just wish the melody that appears in the breakdown was also used in the take-off to give it more of a journey feel. But the mixdown in this track is much better than in some other Coredata productions as the individual components are given room to breathe. The transitions in the track are very good too. This aspect is often neglected in today's trance but Coredata gets it. It takes getting a lot of things right to make a good trance record. Sadly this is the only track I've heard this year that I'd call high quality.

I felt the same. Don't get me wrong, I love Kaleidoscope Skies and rank it as one of the best tracks from 2025, but something about the mix felt off slightly. Maybe it was too many sounds and not breathable enough, like you said.

I love Coredata's stuff.
I appreciate comments about lack of climax, but I think it's important producers deliver what they want to deliver as oppose to what people want them to deliver.
I think a lot of trance has been guilty of following one path for too long, thus the occasional stagnation of the scene.
Every set needs a variety of different tunes, and unlike a lot of my stuff, Coredata's stuff will always slot into a set.
Many years ago, I went to Privilege with Rich and Tapio, and when we walked in, there was the most amazing track playing which made me want to dance, but also had a gentle lovely mid-set feel because it just sat perfectly. I always think Coredata's stuff is perfect for clubs. Draws you in but doesn't fatigue you.
Exquisite selection of sounds as well. Anyway, this is just a middle-aged man's opinion :)
Sometimes the journey is the best part. I wish I could write music which did this. Unfortunately, most of my stuff is like a LSD trip.
Wow, It's not common here to see two highly-respected (and two of my favourite) producers talking about music in the posts.

Yes, it's important to show what the producer want to deliver, and it's impossible to satisfy the needs of every listener.

For your tracks, I think that the 10-min Clarion is a well-crafted journey, with the twists & turns are perfect at where they are. But for your tracks that are "like an LSD trip", they can still exhibit their drive (or "driving-ness"?) and energy when it's well arranged in the sets. Both types are truly extraordinary.

May I give an example by my own set. I played your track "Black Mountain" in my latest set here (51:24). I played the drop of this track right after another track's breakdown, giving the set extra vibe with this hypnotic trip. I only played the track for less than 2 mins, but my friend @NameLessYet told me that this is the most interesting part of the entire set in his opinion.
(I think that "Black Mountain" is also a great journey, but I treated it as an "LSD trip" here though.)

I've been planning something a bit different for a while now and it's slowly starting to take shape - something more independent and away from the major labels I've been releasing with. I will drop news when the time is right.
For me, you are already a producer who is thinking outside the box (from the moment you started releasing tracks as Coredata instead of releasing as Jonny Royall). And you're already a gem in the scene.

I am really expecting how much more "different" and "independent" you can get. Really looking forward to it!

Anyone in the UK on November 29th, come down to Dancelovehub where I'll be playing my first set for god knows how long...
I'll be playing plenty of my originals, some unreleased tracks, plus a couple of classics that I've bootlegged...
Hope everything gets well, and wish you a perfect set!

I couldn't go to the UK to support you in person (due to my location is far away), but I will support it firmly and share it to the Chinese trance community, as long as it has any replays.
