It has that progressive house bassline/chords but people tag it under progressive trance

Foreplay was also featured on Cold Fusion's new video about AI/Robots go around 7 mins it's very faint in the background.

Apparently, this is the part of the EP as well.

Midnight

Discoteque

Satifaction

BTW, YouTube’s algorithms recently recommended an interesting unreleased track by Probspot and Johan Chatkowski to me. Even though it’s been on YouTube for a long time, I only discovered it because of the algorithms. Maybe you hadn’t heard it before either. I’ve been listening to it so much recently that it feels like I’ve known it forever. A very organic and atmospheric work. It’s a pity Probspot vanished so suddenly and permanently from the radar

Let's face it if he did come back he would be producing the watered down stuff because that's what his former friends are playing and producing. That's a really nice track I wish JOOF would take notes this is the kind of Trance we would love to hear on his show.

With 100% certainty, it would have been exactly like that, because at least I don’t know any producers currently making a similar sound. Perhaps Hoopoe is an exception this year he has truly good progressive trance with the atmospheric sound reminiscent of the old guard of producers from those years, 2002-2007. As for Joof, I’m not a big fan of their sound. Almost everything I listen to from them feels like a deep, dark groove beat with background claps and sounds akin to pots. It attempts to be very deep, layered, rich, and atmospheric, but at the same time, it’s utterly chaotic and lifeless, leaving nothing memorable behind , very cold music. I once described it as "lifeless music created by cold machines" to which I was told I was being too harsh :D , but that’s precisely the emotion it evokes in me :sneaky:

This happened a couple of years ago on this forum, under an Enlusion release. I simply wrote something along the lines of what I just expressed, and everyone started tagging me, saying it was too harsh. I apologized at the time and clarified that I wasn’t criticizing Enlusion himself, but rather the sound of the track and the emotions it evoked. Apparently, he even blocked me back then. Ultimately, though, I have nothing against this kind of music, after all, such a sound has its fans too.

Fantastic! How did this not get a release? Better yet, why did they seemingly not just give away the mp3? Can't find _anything_ online about this. Gonna have to rip it from youtube :cautious:

Propspot did have one returning EP on Statement! in 2015 that was pretty alright. Shame we didn't get more from him.

is Statement!'s goal to have the worst cover art imaginable?...

Love these tracks! I also lean towards the idea that this was like a farewell gift from Probspot. However, if you look on Beatport, another great remix was released in 2018: Nexow - Dust & Magic (Probspot remix). If you dig a bit deeper, the original track appeared on YouTube around 2016, which means the remix was likely created around the same time, with the release just being slightly delayed.

Probspot is unique! Rarely heard similar sounds from another producer.

For me, the one who is the most similar to Probspot is Insert Name (aka Stu McNally). He has done some nice tracks back in 2010-2016 mainly in the JOOF label, including "Tektonica Type One" and "Variety Is the Spice of Life". Not as high quality as Probspot, but is the most similar I have known.

He has done a collab EP of 2 tracks with the Digital Blonde, but neither has made me satisfied. The first track seems like incorporating the sounds full of reverb of the Digital Blonde into a typically Insert Name structure.

He started releasing music as Stu McNally since 2021, his entered Forescape, JOOF Aura, Pure Progressive and Lost Language. Some of his tracks after that is still unique, but not as interesting as the Insert Name period.
