German producer Pete Kuhlmann was present in the trance world from its very beginnings. Many know him under the aliases Pete Namlook or 4 Voice — the latter being the name under which he released Eternal Spirit in 1992, widely regarded as one of the most important trance tracks of the early 1990s. That same year, he also released another noteworthy yet largely overlooked trance piece in collaboration with Christian Thier, under the alias Sequential. This track, Sequential (Dune Mix), is a fully stripped-down composition that balances between the traditional trance framework and ambient-leaning trance aesthetics. Considerably more restrained than Eternal Spirit, it is less explosive and less immediately imposing, yet through its subtle shifts and delicate progression it ultimately becomes a strong experience — particularly in its second half, where it unfolds. The original release on the FAX label was limited to 500 copies and was issued just days before the end of the year, on December 21. There was also a white-label promo released via Rising High Records the same year.
