The Pop-Trance Thread

[Peenuts]

A much divisive genre of music, mainly referring to the more commercial/pop sound of predominantly trance musicians.
Some are undeniably really bad, although equally there are decent tracks to be found if one listens with an open mind.

Armin vs. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Not Giving Up on Love

Above & Beyond feat. Zoe Johnston - Fly To New York

[Archon]

I love it, I do, I love it! When done well and tastefully (which was Armin's and A&B specialty), it is amazing. Always love hearing something like that on the commercial radio than just pure pop shit, when I'm forced to actually listen to the radio.

There's probably a lot of these tracks that I like, but somehow felt the need to post these two. One is a bit sad, the other is just the sweetest.

Armin - Beautiful Life, from the Intense album

Armins Beautiful Life is definitely one of my hidden favourites. Another secret favourite of mine, with very nice lyrics and vocals done right:

Also the other trance icon turned into edm/pop - Alpha 9, specially under his Arty alias. Hard to choose a song but Horizon is pretty new:

And lets not forget the absolute ''criminals'' - Tritonal

Overall pretty enjoyable songs, even if they are not pure trance...

Vocal Trance RYM Box Set

Vocal trance is a form of Trance that appeared in the early 90s focusing on vocals. Although "normal" Trance music can also have vocals, vocal trance contains certain elements that are usually attributed to pop songs, such as a melodic and harmonic structure, but more importantly chroruses & verses.
