@EnigmaState best set at lumi this year, just like previous year! you absolutely deserve the mainstage! (much more than many others)

about lumi: stages were better this year, but removing the free water stations after the two first days and charging 7,2 euro for water (in summer, under the hot sun) is just stupid. I know they need to make a profit but at this point me as a visitor I just feel like an idiot that likes to be ripped-off. Not sure I'll be coming back next year tbh

I might go because I want Ferry to sign the album sampler of From the Heart vinyl which I have the full 10 minute version. But saying that my mind is saying yes but my body is saying No after 10pm I am not able to stay up like I used to unlike some of you young people.
I’m 44, so what are you 70? 😂🤣😂

LOL no not that but I mean I am 140kgs at the moment and I want to lose weight. After surgery it caused my weight to really increase too much. I am in a dispute with the surgeon too because I was given a really really heavy dosage without my permission as well.

went to Luminosity at the Beach yesterday, a smaller event (compared to the main festival) in a beach club in Zandvoort, with (in order): Doppenberg, JOC, Superstrings, Ben Gold

Nice sets, I gotta say, except JOC, which I'm not a super fan of. He also had the longer set, but it was not worth it imho. Kinda boring uplifting, except maybe some tunes here and there...

Doppenberg has that perfect balance between proper melodic stuff and more big-room techno/trance that I like. Too bad his set was early in the afternoon, when there's still light outside it's just not the same compared to when it gets dark.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Superstrings guys, it's not the first time I've seen them live, but they are really good at adapting their set based on the audience/event. This was proper trance with some nice old-school tunes (not only the usual classics, but also some lesser-known tunes they always manage to include) and some newer stuff.

Ben Gold, I was a bit unsure about his new bouncy/rave/faster/whatever sound, but I gotta say it was not bad at all and also the perfect closure. Proper energy, I liked it.

As for the rest, the crowd was pretty dead, and not just because of the average age (quite high). It's incredible to me that NL has such well-organized events, often with top DJs, but the crowd isn't really that interested and prefers to chat all the time instead of dancing (after a certain point, I had to move in front of the stage just to not hear all the people talking lol). I'm sure with trance fans from for example Poland or other countries, the crowd would be much more responsive.
Although I gotta say the mood and atmosphere are always very friendly and nice, I just wish people talked less and were more immersed.

Otherwise... usual scammy, shitty token system and paying for the toilet, typical of many Dutch clubs unfortunately.
Still, not as bad as Luminosity removing the free water stations after the 2nd day during the festival this year, that was such a dick move that I'm not sure I'll ever return to the festival in the future.

I made another quick trip to the UK this weekend to see Chicane yesterday at the Royal Festival Hall in London, for his 30 years celebration.

It was a truly unique experience. imho to pull off something like that, you really need to be a musician, not just a producer or DJ. Here are a few videos I took to give you an idea:

The preparation behind it must have been insane, coordinating the music and the keyboards, the live band, the orchestra, the vocalists, the visuals, the lights, etc. There were two main singers, one female and one male. The female vocalist in particular was unbelievable, such a superb voice, delivering all the classics and other tracks impeccably with zero hesitation.

Nick played classics like offshore and poppiholla in super extended versions alongside the orchestra and band, with multiple reprises and other changes and nice touches specifically for this event. Offshore even had these incredible guitar riffs I’d never heard before. Absolutely mindblowing.

It was one of a kind, nothing you could hear or experience anywhere else.

Plus the UK crowd never disappoints (unlike the NL one unfortunatelly), at one point a few people stood up to start dancing, and within a minute the entire hall followed suit lol

Any of the Aussies going to Reminisce Trance in Melbourne? @Progrez and @JulesPlees ??
I’m going to that. In answer to this thread I get out a few times a year to prog or trance nights, always ones for old gits where a similarly old git DJ is playing. For example last one was Lange in Melbourne. SO good
What did you think of the Jewlez closing set? Proper old school Hard Trance set to finish the night off.

It was a good ending and I love her story ❤️, but I was in a shitty mood by that point due to some of the utter wank in the top 50, that fucking bellend talking over the breakdown of Carte Blanche, Tiesto’s version of Adagio being No.1 and seeing this absolute mess of an old dude proper Melbs underbelly type with a 10/10 smoking hot bird half his age.
