I do agree that it's not the most energetic. But Activa's style is usually not that energetic. So not sure why one would expect that. It's already quite clubby and full-on-melodic for a CD opener. So very curious about the whole mix.

Hearing the cool oldschool approach, but the sound design is still not as pleasing to me as the era its been inspired by. It doesn't sound bad, but even just 10% more modern feel is a big difference for me and I dont connect with it as much. Synths just miss that warmth. The idea as well is too straight forward. Wouldnt a track like this in the past have a lot more complexity in the arrangement and build, even if its 'simple' in how many elements are used etc??

I noticed as well with the mastering/mixodwn of some TF releases that very very small changes of elements changes the song completely how it feels and I dont like it as much. Usually its a modern feel and it sucks the soul and sometimes rhythm out too.

Great opener for CD 2 of the Movement comp. (The extended mix).

The build-up is a little bit empty for me. I would probably fill it up with plucks and swirls and what not. But it's an opener, so alrighty then.

I do really like the main melodic part. It's simple, but isn't stuff like Synaesthesia also very simple (but magical?). A different basspattern on the same melody to alter it's feel. I like it.

yep! this is like its just one part to the whole track. modern tracks lacks in more complex arrangements for sure. Its very very predictible.

When I see Activa's name on the Borderline release I do expect a listening experience thats above the rest of the artist he signs. The Tri-state EPs and Origin are still huge favorites of mine but since then then I have found the tracks from the label and him to sometimes feel a little too basic. I play them regularly none the less. This track is good but it does feel like other Borderline regulars could have also made it, as the sounds are so similar.

Hahaa. Activa is most boring and bland producer Ive seen in this scene. Melody is no fu*kingthing special.

If you ask me (ok, you don't 😅), after checking this and Chris Johnson's "The Calling", I'm glad that I ordered the vinyl sampler of "Movement: One" :)

Good track. I would like to hear his music live to see how it feels in that environment. Maybe the modern and straightforward approach works there. 7.5/10.
