One of my all time favourite uplifting trance tracks - I'm honestly not sure why, but this track holds a pretty special place in my heart and I can listen to it every day and never get tired of it. There's something extremely simple about the melody mixed with the massive bass and solid wooden kick, which just fits so well together. Akesson's best track imo.

There's also a very solid remix by Solar Movement, but imo. it doesn't get close to the original mix

I have some very nice memories with the original, that one is definitely my favourite by him! The Solar Movement mix is also pretty great, although the hat is somewhat in the way.

Yes, the hat might be a bit too prominent in the remix, but I still like it more than the original (which has a weird clap to me). Though again - the build-up of the remix is a bit too long. I'd remove the first 128 beats.

Either way, I really dig the melody. It reminds me of Armin's Imagine.

EDIT: I think I know what the OP means. I gave the original another shot and it has a much better progression than the remix. At this point, I don't know which version I prefer.

Perfect Blue is the classic Akesson track. Simple banging beats with an off beat bassline, not particularly inventive or sophisticated, but it just works. The melody is really what makes the track. I don't enjoy the track as much as i did in the past, although i still put it on once in a while and it showcases the late-2000s uplifting sound well.

The Solar Movement mix i've never warmed much to, but listening to it now i can appreciate it. It's not as euphoric as the original; with it's deep bassline it's more proglifting than uplifting, and is more of an acquired taste.

One of my all-time favorites. Peenuts comment is in point! Also, the track aged very well. I could imagine this being a release of today which is good (his style always works and never gets old to me) and bad at the same time (not much innovation in the trance scene within the last 10 years).
