Figured why not share a work in progress in here. Currently working on this bootleg as I've always loved the original and just wanted to see if I could do it justice. Jury's out on that but here's where I'm currently up to. The vocals need more EQ work I feel and I plan to dive into that later but if anyone has any ideas I'll give em a go

This is flippin gorgeous . That rolling bass, lovely delay, reverb (& pumper?)

I definately think this track is on its way. The vocals don’t sit right yet. Bit wavey (unclear) don’t know if that it has automated fx or plain eq issues or just a sound that’s not quite my preference, but it’s not far off. Done right ( in terms of my preferences) it would sound amazing ( to me) Maybe vocal needs a bit more width? (Or less?). But yeh eq alterations might do it especially if there’s lots of fx on it. Kick seems a bit weak before the bigger kick sound ( or initial kick opens filter / or low end arrives) but not bad.
Some great atmospheric sound bursts.
Can’t wait to hear more.

Thanks dude. Yeah I haven't delved much into the vocal EQ yet but it definitely needs a lot of work. It's a pretty poor quality acapella that I ripped off YouTube so I def need to get a bit surgical. I'll also add a gentle sub layer under the bass but I don't want too much bass on it as I like the space I've carved out and am trying to get away from filling up every single part of the frequency range, I don't think trance needs to be like that

That sounds cool man, interesting idea about the bass.

Ps (and as we know, its…all about that bass-no treble 😉)

This has me interested enough to follow up. Myself, I'd have gone for a darker, energetic, 2002 Push route (Troy), but I appreciate this as well. No feedback to give yet as the arrangement is not complete, just keep on going. It has potential.

I really like the instrumental! But I think the vocals aren't optimally used, they just don't fit for me. Would maybe try to make the vocals washed out a bit more - more reverb and delay, take out the attack - and if nothing, maybe just position them in the break, and without the beats at all.
