I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, I think the vocals don't really fit earlier in the track, but at around the 3 minute mark (in the sample posted), they go quite well with the instrumental. Though the 9PM / Don't Stop hints are nice, the vocals are not quite there. I'd prefer a dub mix.
I kind of feel torned since I am such a huge fan of ATB, but he moved away from trance at least 10 years ago.
I think Trilogy in 2007 was the last one worth mentioning
For a full album of mostly trance, sure, let's say Trilogy. Even so, ATB has never been 100 percent trance either.
The First Tones (off of '99's Movin Melodies),
Timeless (Two Worlds),
Get High (Dedicated), are just a couple of examples. Even
9AM off of the 2CD version of Trilogy, since you mentioned it.
In the same vein as the above, Future Memories (2009) had the excellent
Horizon and the
title track, while Distant Earth (2011) had
Vice Versa (with Armin) and
Moments in Peace.
I would guess the split opinion when it comes to Future Memories (and later albums) might be due to
Behind. Though not trance, it did spawn the
EDX Ibiza Sunrise Mix, which I think is better than the original, so there's that.
