This is something I've been putting off for a while. I idolise only 3 people in this world and only two of them are still alive. I am not ashamed to say their names - André Tanneberger, Chester Bennington and Thierry Henry.
Andre had been such a huge influence, not only on my music taste, but my life as a whole. So naturally when he announced he will be releasing his last album next year, I couldn't help but get a little bit nostalgic.
I saw his set a few weeks ago here in London and although it was a purely EDM set I enjoyed it. Looking back I finally realised that this is someone who has been in the music industry for more than 30 years. There is a handful of people in the world that can match his djing for sure.
I am hoping that for his last album he will delve deep into that 30+ years and even if its mostly dance music I hope he will still bring his old sound in at least a few songs.
No matter what direction he has taken in the last 10 years, he is still one of the most influential trance producers. One thing I will remember him for is popularising guitar sounds in trance alongside Chicane and BT. Not that it wasn't done before, but it shows how a handful of people can have a massive influence on a music style.
Through the years I amassed a huge collection of his albums, singles, official remixes and a ton of mixes and unofficial remixes of his songs.
Today I wanted to share the jewels of my collection from 2 projects that he made before Sequential One and I am guessing a handful of people still know/remember that he was in.
