Fuck man, I really have to give this some thought! Haven't listened to a ton of electronic music, but A LOT of "whatever-else-there-is" - Will come back with a couple of suggestions later!

Haven't heard the Tycho mix but if it's anything like his older Burning Man mixes I'm sure I'll love it. Have never heard of CELL either but seems like my cup of tea!

Some more or less related to trance. But anyway, these from top of my head

JODA - JODA

Solar Fields - Formations

Sin Cos Tan - Living In Fear

thought this was pretty great.
(Cell - Onwards System)
Oh Ultimae is still actually releasing something. I might need to check this. Ultimae was absolutely magnificent around 2005-2010 and I remember Cell from the label's catalogue.

Alvvays - Blue Rev
Probably my favourite album this year; A superb blend of Westkust and Slowdive. Fucking brilliant if you like any of those two bands

Florist - Florist
A truly wonderful melodic, calm album with beautiful slow melodies for the late evening. One half is superbly written folk songs, the other half ambient segments and soundscapes. Easily recommended!

Special Interest - Endure
Endure is SUCH A FANTASTIC POP ALBUM! It's filled with funky pop, electronic elements and just sounds so incredible original from start to finish. Lots of energy, positive vibes and it's just impossible to not love this one

Weyes Blood - And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow
Natalie aka. Weyes Blood, just can't do no wrong. Her mesmerizing album Titanic Rising from 2019 was my favourite album that year and her second in a planned trilogy is pretty much just as good. Slow, meaningful pop with rock'ish elements, LOTS of body and there's just something about her way of creating immense soundscapes.

-----------------------------------------------------------

A couple of other albums which I love from this year:

Se Ve Desde Aquí, by Mabe Fratti

Neglect, by Pencey Sloe

Just a few more highlights:
Danger Mouse - Cheat Codes
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard - Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava
Mary Halvorson - Amaryllis / Belladonna
HEALTH - DISCO4 :: PART II

Oh man, I love the Florist album. Perfect music for a rainy/snowy weekend coming up. I'll have to give the Blue Rev album a whirl next, since I'm a fan of Slowdive. Lotta groups here I'd never heard of before, pretty much just Danger Mouse and King Gizz.

A few others:

Julia Gjertsen's piano feels like a warm hug to me. Very comforting and soft.

An obligatory add though I figure people've heard it already. A brilliant mix of pop, stuff across the rave spectrum, and a bit of glitch. I'm also contractually obliged to stan anything related to Jon Hopkins.

Awesome mix of improvisational synth work and jazz. On the synths is Luke Abbott, whose album "Music From The Edge of an Island" is also gorgeous.

Not much to this one, just a ripping album from a jazz vibraphonist with some killer sax as well. Nothing makes me feel older hearing jazz that's this technically sound and creative, made by people at least a few years younger than me. Not sure if it motivates me to pick up my sax or give up trying to get back to where I was entirely :p

I feel like I didn't go through nearly as many albums this year on the whole compared to the last 5, not sure why. Maybe grad school's finally getting to me.

@Redrot Slowdive is such a good band! Too bad they don't really make music anymore. There's no doubt Blue Rev is more rock'ish than anything Slowdive have made and resembles Westkust much more, but some of their tracks just gave me a "Oh-so-this-is-what-Slowdive-would-have-sound-like-if-they-went-the-rock-path", haha

Will definitely check out some of your recommended albums as well! Love discovering new music!

Wait, THAT is a sister label of Blue Soho? That's honestly shocking to me. Some real nice slow jungle jams on there.

edit: I had to look because I had such a hard time an uplifting label would have a sister label releasing stuff like this, and I don't think they're related, though they're both out of Turkey.
e2: Oh just saw the thread lol

Related, one that I completely forgot to link but is def up there for me:

Yeah believe it is man, Bluesoho shared it in the house thread, stating as such. Probably not 'sister' label per-se but maybe run by the same guy.

Wild! I'm gonna have to go through that label, loved the album. A great mix of inspirations present.

e: That Florist album is 100% getting added to my favorite albums list especially. It's been raining all weekend and the mood is perfect for it. Also cool to see Emily Sprague is the frontwoman, I've listened to her album Water Memory a number of times this year!

Blue Soho is the label i started at the age of 18; now I'm 31, and Oath kicked off two years ago :) They are not related to each other and are completely different projects.

Wanted to try out other genres than trance, stumbled upon this one 2 days after it was released. Instantly fell in love, without a doubt one of my favourite albums of 2022 in general (if not, my favourite album).

Sweden
Swedish "Evigt Mörker" released his second album a couple weeks ago. Been having that on repeat. I fully agree about the maturity of the direction hes taking with this as someone mentioned in the comments on bandcamp. He has a very recognisable sound imo. Love the titles aswell, very poetic without being cliche, for those who understand swedish.

Fred Again... - Actual Life 3 has been getting a lot of plays from me since its release.
Bob Vylan - The Price of Life up there along with Last Night in the Bittersweet by Paulo Nutini for this years non-trance favourites!
