Accidentally made a 4 min version of a track im going to make longer eventually.

Weirdly, it almost worked.

Please let me know what Trance style this is.
140 BPM, quite an alternative intro.

Mastered for fun and for my eq/mastering learning.

There’s something I love about this track.

Got some great sounds here. As a sort of mood board for a track it could turn out quite nicely.

Could do with a better groove, maybe its the synth pattern that makes it feel a bit repetitive/boring after a while. That middle synth is a bit weak too imo, in terms of musical idea. Repetitive, even tho the sounds is relatively nice.

I like all the atmopsheric FX, hope they come out more in future versions

That’s interesting. When making that middle synth line, I too thought it was boring but went with it for some reason. I could try and change it or add some energy to the sound. Or do a different melody. / or shorten the repetition then develop it into a more intricate melody as the line develops.

I’d planned to up the chord of the tune, ie do chord changes, as currently it’s all basically one chord more or less, or one key , the entire track. Thus repetetive, but I was refining other parts and didn’t have time. Then to make the WIP sound presentable I did a short end bit and arranged it. Listened and thought. Oh. That’s a 4m trance track. How strange.
Anyhow, il attempt some chord progressions to lift it up and see how that sounds. Thing is it’s quite a complexity of sounds in there so a chord change and progressions may sound abrupt. Il give it a bash and see where it goes. I think a chord change could possibly only take place when there’s a section with a reduction in quantity of sounds present, but that may be do able under a slightly different arrangement or structure.

I'm loving the track. I like the atmospheres, the synth layers and the sounds in general.

The groove and the repetitiveness is more a thing of taste I guess cos I like it. But something like a chord change could be a very interesting addition to the track. I'm curious how that would turn out.

Can anyone link me to a track of this style so I can use it as a reference to arrange and structure it.
I’ve added more and changed a little. A few new sounds, but the melody that comes in last il alter the sound. Plus it’s too loud. Few mins longer now but no structure yet. Hence need reference track.


anyway. Really don’t know where to look for trance of this style. I don’t know what style it is. Needs to be something I can purchase so I can put it on my daw. And if it happens to be 140bpm then that’s great.

I’m very much enjoying music currently.
im working on many tracks for special reasons. @IXM . I know you said to just put on this track when it’s finished. So forgive me for linking the WIP But it’s gonna be a while before I finish this I anticipate. Plus as explained later I really need suggestions.

I have worked on it quite abit and am rather happy with new sounds in the 2nd part of this WIP. The last minute will offcourse be arranged differently and the song will be extended and travel somewhere undecided currently.

This is an unfinished track I very much love and very much look forward to it being finished. (I am going to try and see if it sounds better altering one note on the final melody ) Got a lot of tracks on the go though. I am however keen to know what style it is and where to find a reference track to help structure and arrange it. If anyone can help with that, I would very much appreciate it.

I've listened to the track a couple of times and I really like it. I like the changes and little additions you made to it.

I also thought about the box it would die in terms of genre and I couldn't really determine what fits the track.

The same thing with finding a reference track which is similar. The closest track I could find is this one.

I only briefly listened to your linkted track but will listen properly later. My initial thoughts are it sounded very good and maybe has a useful similarity in quite a few aspects genre wise

Strangely I today heard another lovely (different style) track from 97. Probably appeared because I briefly played the POB one you linked. I put it in the currently listening section on the forum.

I stumbled upon it whilst going through some of my old playlists and had to think about your track.
Platipus is such great label but I've got the idea that it's one of the few labels that truly requires a certain type of love for our music. If you know what I mean.
