(mastered just for fun (cloudbounce )and experimentation, hardly any eq’ing tho). (Decibels db probably bit high). Soon im getting a new studio big enough for speakers. Using headphones is good but not productive for mastering, hence using cloudbounce. I have some individual software now for mastering but in order to learn the effects of mastering, doing a master without eq’ing the sounds first is actually quite educational.

@jetflag one of the sounds in this WIP /JIP I've made, the one on this thread (The Sorcerer) reminds me of my favourite sound on your excellent album Paracosm.

@Bobby Summa , Cheers m8 Had a listen,

Love the intro with the reverb rumble kick. Nailed it in terms of athmosphere/ individual elements me thinks.

In fact: I wouldn't change any of the elements you have there. maybe only add some in terms of sweeps/crash fx to accompany the (future) structure.

Just build the track from those stems up in terms of arrangement/structure

Cheers for today’s feedback gents. I actually arranged a bit more last night. Although i like the reverb intro (and may return to it as i miss it now) ) i tried something else as wanted to see what its like with it starting with part of the kick. - il experiment.

I also added perc. Slightly changed structure, but one element i liked on the original isn’t there and i will reterm the two sounds coming in together that on this version dont.

Probably not much reason to put this version here apart from new perc and the intro change ( oh hats come in more immediately not fade in, well one of the hats)

Next im gonna try the interesting reverb again at intro but with the pad that starts here too. So the kick will still fade in. Im off on holiday / honeymoon soon so may not do much this week.

Some may find this version interesting tho ( is the added perc any good? A clap and some hats/various shaker sounds)

To be honest its all still unstructured, im just experimenting.

I keep wandering tho, does it need a main melody added , and if so would i need to take out any current elements as it could with s main melody sound crowded. Personally its nice in what layers are the presently but, hey. Il experiment. All good fun had with this track thus far!

Ok, structure better, but definitely not there yet. Added some new bits. I know where the structure needs to alter, a section goes on too long. But….. I believe it’s improving. ( part of it sounds like the ending, but it isn’t so il change that or extend previous sections.

Snare/clap - not sure? ( worked on it but not happy with the sound of it yet.

This was the last session in my studio before my honeymoon me thinks. Soon a new studio will be built! ( with speakers)

Actually guys, structure wise. I think it needs a break or bit where the kick or percussion/hats are muted at 2.15 or perhaps 2.28 and some kind of quieter bit maybe a few other sounds muted a few bars at a time. Then while its much less busy have the breath sample come in (ive only used it once so might just put it there first as a nice sound effect) Do the quiter section for 16/32 bars ( im thinking around 45 seconds or a minute maybe, then a swoosh or sound effect to introduce the part where il then build up the track again into what would be the main section. I think the new pluck/lead should be absent until i bring in and build that new section, a kind of addition highlighting and creating that fuller structural story or narrative.

If im right, this would be a good format for structure and arrangement, yes? These days I feel like im understanding a little more about how a track should be formed, the energy changes, dips, highs and builds etc. Hope im thinking along the right lines. Im trying to learn from all the great advice many have provided on this forum.

Do you mean lower their volume? or do they sound different in a previous version and you prefered their levels in the previous versions? Cheers

@Hensmon @Archon TF-R crew. Once this track is finished. Is it something you might feel is good for a TF-R label release? Or should I consider other labels? If once finished it’s good enough I’d love it to be on TF-R, but I know you have styles your preferring release wise at the moment.

A few more additional bits n fills, intro has higher envelope , sound fx, nice kick actiion as an intro to a string. . Thus thud ddd thud. Interesting how in the main part, the clap adds so much to the fullness of the track, as here, it dissapears too soon and then the arrangement sounds lacking.
This is still a WIP. I intend to make it much longer

Starting to sound finished. I’m not sure about a couple of the newer additions. The swooshes that I’ve designed (home made style not any kind of preset) don’t know if they’re good or placed as good as they could be.
I am though very pleased with the Vangelis style strings I added. Do they sound like enough of a hook?

Also, I want to add a snare when they come in.

I’m actually impressing myself with this track.
