Thanks! And it's on the list, haha. :D You just need to use the second list that has individual spreadsheets for each year. The master list is so ridiculously large that it has a hard time loading in even on high-end PCs.

Ah cool. Yes I was looking at the master list and it didn't load in. It did seem like everything loaded though, but guess excel cannot handle these things.

This is amazing!! Thank you so much :) Is there any way you can amend the size of the columns so the track column is larger? I can't do it on view mode.

Thanks :)

¡De nada! A medida que pasen los años, seguiré actualizando mi lista personal de niveles (lista de las mejores pistas de trance), que podría compartir aquí en el futuro. Ya tiene muchas canciones de 1993. :D

First of all, thank you for your work. My list doesn't look the same as yours.

Ah this is insane, imagine there was some sort of import feature on Spotify to feed the entire playlist into it & be able to stream the entire collection span over several weekends 😳 (minus the missing tracks)

Hello,

Thanks for this wonderful list. What an amazing list of trace tunes.

Is there a download link to download all these tracks or is it just an excel sheet with the tracks

thanks

Thanks for sharing this list with the world. I can't even imagine how much effort this must have cost you!

I am working on a trance project called www.trancepedia.com (a wiki for trance music) and this info is invaluable. I can make this info easilly accessible to the public in the upcoming week so that people are not bugged by the performance problems.

Send me a PM, we should work together. The master database still has tons of non-trance stuff (due to bad Discogs tags). The curated database I'm working on will be a million times better and more focused (with only trance tunes).

You can download from Google Sheets in a format that is compatible with Excel.

Just fyi that sometimes when I click the link to go to youtube it doesnt take me to a results page containing the tracks. See Nicole Wray - Canto [1995]

This post was rewritten for better clarity, and now it also includes information about the curated database. :)

Furthermore, I updated the Classic Trance Curated Database with a bunch of new things:
  • Added label information in the Label(s) column
  • Added information about whether a track has seen a digital release in the CD/WEB column
  • Added helpful information for mixers and DJs, including key, Camelot key, and BPM in their corresponding columns
  • Added 8 new tracks (these are listed below)

  1. Transform - Transformation (Club Mix)
  2. Cosmic Baby - The Space Track
  3. Paragliders - Paraglide
  4. Country & Western - Reincarnation
  5. Aurora Borealis - The Milky Way
  6. Unreal - Phenomenon
  7. Scooter - Rhapsody In E
  8. Underworld - Dark & Long (Thing In A Book Mix)

You can process this list data to accomplish the same objective :). Databases rule
In order to locate all trance tracks or all tracks by a specific artist you still need to search manually on discogs. You need to go through all individual artist releases, all remix releases and track appearances, which is very time consuming. Discogs used to have a "tracks" feature that displayed all tracks by an artist including track length. This feature was fucking gold but unfortunatly short lived. Although this list is impressive, it falls short of including all released "classic" trance tracks it claims to. Therefore, its not a resource i will rely on to ensure i find all productions from a specific artist.

It claims to list almost all classic trance tunes (around 90-95%) and it does Exactly that. This took me around 200 hours of work at least. Getting the remaining 5-10% here would have required me an additional 800-1000 hours, if not more, as it was explained in the post. Thus, I had to make some compromises.

The query string search is useful, but it could be even more helpful if there were a dedicated playlist on youtube that collected all of the actual trance tracks, making it easier for people to check them out.

I think I will do that, but only with the Curated Database (once it gets finished). Doing this with the Main Database would take... a very long time.
