When you think about it, this newer sound is about the same sort of quality as his stuff from 2010-12, when I was first getting into his music, albeit of a slightly different flavour. Cheesy as hell but still trancy. Would definitely hold Mirage up as a higher standard of that tho.

I sometimes listen to this kind of music to feel young again

Haha. You are still so young! I mostly go for eternal 'personal youth' favorites like Milk Inc, G-Spott, Dance Nation, Special D, Lasgo, Alice Deejay, etc etc. I have a whole playlist for that.

But sometimes recent 'youth dance' can be fun as well. I realllly liked Avicii for a good while. Great tracks like Bromance, Levels, Hey Brother, Wake Me Up. Calvin Harris 'Miracle' is a very cool dance hit right now.

There's nothing wrong with a nice burger every once in a while.

From ~50 year old trance legends you just expect a little more though (Armin, Tiesto). But if you can ingnore that... decent festival music.

Agreed, I absolutely like cheeseburgers, so you need to share that list with me 😅

And burgers are bait, to lure more people into trance. So the scene needs burgers 😄

Some commercial dance can be so enjoyable, if well executed. Besides Avicii I also really enjoyed Swedish House Maffia, Dada Life and more. Less commercial, but pretty EDM'ish, I was also a big fan of for example Wezz Devall, loudness everywhere, but very well produced and really original ideas 🤩
