This song in a way is a nod to my old songs. Simple bass, arps, pads and melodies mostly in the same chord progression. There are two things that make me nervous.

The drums which I made a point to make myself oppose to use sampling (apart from the shakers, which for me are always a hit or a miss)

The small breakdown and main one feel kind of similar, although there is a lot of stuff happening in the main BD, the idea is the same.

Apart from that the guitar sample is brilliant and after a whole year of sampling guitars I see myself obsessing more and more with guitar samples.

God damn it forgot the most important part, for many years is a new year greeting in my country and I assume in most Balkan countries.

So I had a walk to the supermarket listening to the song and a few things bugged me. In the chorus and second chorus I have a chord progression with same dark keys, but they sounded too high pitch so I lowered them an octave, sound way better now. I removed the shakers from the intro and started the song with simpler drums, I also played with the hi hats a bit, think they sound better now.

Scratch that the drums can't be saved. I kept a few percussions like the tambourine and triangle. I also kept two of the hi hats I used and the clap snare. I completely reworked the rest including new kick and different break rhythm (I actually used a reggaetón idea since I can't come up with nothing). I am still not completely sold on the drums, but they are way better now.

I simplified the intro a bit. Reworked the mix a bit too. Nothing too major.

Hi, I like the track, very relaxing. But not sure if you notice a lot of pops and crakling in the mix. I had headphone on, so if you listen in the pad section at 2.50 you should hear it. Either you have instruments clipping or if you are ducking a signal with LFO take the tail end away until pops or cracks go. I'm not a mastering engineer, but it spoils your track.

At first I wasn't sure, but I think its this one. I've put some effects on some of the instruments. It's not clipping though, its the distortion effect. Its new plugin I got for free with my Serato subscription around Christmas and I've been playing around with it. It has a ton of distortions, bit crashers and filter effects. I am gonna check how it sounds through other things, I mix on my Sennheiser HD25's, but I've noticed sometimes on more bass heavy headphones/sytems my songs sound a bit strange, guessing because my songs are always heavy on the bass side and have a lot of things going on the low side.
