The production sounds nice and all the elements sound lush and full, but it feel like an intro to a much more energetic track.
Like I was expecting a huge breakbeat or a solid 4/4 groove to erupt at some point but it never came.
If you brought some more energetic drums in at the drop at around 3 mins, that would take this track to the next level imo.
So I tried and initially wasn't working. I tried a bunch of breakbeat patterns and samples and they all sounded worst. Then I remembered that I made the song at 119 bpm, but played a lot of the pads of half speed.
Once I made most of them at normal speed for the more energetic part I realised that I can use something I used when I remastered my Land Of Shamans songs, where I kept some drums at 140, mostly the kick, snare/clap and half the speed of the hi hats.
Since I really love the main drum sample (it's from the same sound pack with Native American sounds), I doubled up the kick sample and kept the snare at normal speed. I actually like both versions so I called this one Energy Mix. And since the pads also play at higher speed it really brings another dimension to the song.
