I'm not sure why people are complaining about the vocal chops, we need more tracks with them not less.

vocal chops are super cool and catchy when they're done right, which is actually really tight one to crack.

this is surely very subjective but in here i don't like the repetitiveness they bring, it's not exactly YearZero level of vocal chops execution

Apart from Enigmatic, I've found ES music to be way over rated. It sounds old skool but so what? Had it been released back in the day it would have been regarded as average at best. The thing is not just to sound old skool, you have to add some originality and inventiveness to it too.
Having said that, l like the riff here. Has a nice energy. The vocal chops are quite awful though. Need to be more subtle and less cheesy.

I mostly agree but he's got his niche audience just right, all the others whom I heard making the '90s trance' sound just unlistenable trash, I guess that's probably because they can't nail the modern clean and polished sound neither and think if they make some muddy distorted cheap shit they just call it '90s trance' like it was all like that back then.

ES, on the opposite, is pretty solid with the old school sound design, good mixing, and creating the overall authentic vibe. what I find his weaker spot is the musical/compositional aspect - mostly the melodies and the little catchy things that get stuck in your head and make you want to hear the track again and again - they're just not in there. that's what one need to master to make hit records, no matter what style

Fair comment. I try not to look or think too much into what my music would have been regarded as back in the day or think of what other people think, but yeah I probably would have been regarded as middle of the road. Some would have loved it, some wouldn't, which is what it is these days. I know my market though, it's small and aimed at most 40-somethings who can't quite let go of their 20s (like me ), but I'm very careful about how I portray my music and describe it. I'll never call it a 'classic' because for me coining music a classic is something earnt and gained through longevity.
I just do music for me really, and post shitty videos on my socials of what I'm doing which tend to end up here.
