Gai Barone - Mr. Slade [2013]

My first encounter with Gai Barone back then. 10 years ago already!

The original mix takes the cake though there is a time and place for the Fazenda version.




In my head the Pure mix came several years later but apparently it's just one, in 2014. Not the best Pure remix imo but good enough.

All three are strong productions! Pure mix slightly edges out the original imo.

So many memories with the Solarstone Pure mix, that one was pretty much the first proper trance track I've ever listened to (kept playing Armin's "Intense" and "10 Years" on repeat before discovering this one on ASOT2015). It still holds up today in my opinion.

Not too familiar with the original and Gai in a Fazenda mixes, but those sound excellent as well.

From 2012 to about 2018, all things considered, Gai Barone was the KING of progressive trance for me. This track is just one of many that sealed the deal, but significant enough that I've chosen it for the crate of 100 tracks for my first DJ gig this summer! I may actually get to play this live!
