I originally started back in 1999/2000, around 16. I started on a very small budget, and could only afford a pair of Sony PS-DJ9000 Direct Drive Turntables, with a basic 2 channel mixer.

Vinyl was hard to come by. Living in a rural area, there wasn't really a great deal of speciality records places around. Only one I can recall, which closed not long after I started. Other vinyl came via online (when I could afford it) and local CD/Record fairs if/when they came around.

As a result, I started to drift away from Vinyl and started collecting CD's (but had nothing to mix them on!).

Long story short. I grew up, sold all my gear, had a family and am now regretting all those previous decisions.

Now, I am only able to get back in to everything digitally. I don't have the pockets or room to start with Vinyl again.

It's been an awesome journey re-discovering some old classics again and even hearing some new stuff.

Cheers

J
