Iconic Belgian trance.

The Peter Luts version is my favorite. It's feel-good, fluffy trance:

Original extended mix. I'm not too familiar with it, but it was nice seeing that it's also really trancy. I had expected something more like eurodance!

To be honest I see this more in the lines of DJ Sammy - Heaven, Lasgo - Something, Sylver - Forgiven, Milk Inc - Walk On Water.

Don't get me wrong, I love all these 2000's dance hits a LOT. I have a dedicated Spotify playlist with all these sort of tracks. Special D, Gigi d'Agostino, G-Spott, Dance Nation, Alice Deejay, etc, etc, etc. For this track: the Peter Luts version is my favorite too, love that harsh synth.

I don't really see it as trance though.

I would say the original version is closer to the tracks you mentioned, yes. For me, the Peter Luts remix is sufficiently trancy.

Seriously, these tracks arent thaaaaat far away from what many people consider trance, even more
"authentic" sounding melodic/uplifting/prog trance.

Euro trance ? I love em. Cant help.

I also consider this trance.

Lots of the oldschool vocal trance songs had really good trance instrumentals behind the cheesy vocals.

If you took away the vocals from this song for example then its easier call it trance but since they are there then its easy to call it eurodance.

Not a big deal, two very similar genres who use many of the same elements.

Ian Van Dahl copied a fair bit from Faithless - Insomnia in this song ^^

Oh and another strange funfact totally off topic but about Faithless.

The producer behind Faithless is the older brother of Dido :p

Well, its much more trance then Armin - Bla Bla, we all agree on that 😉

As for Ian van Dahl, I also really like Reason, and Will I.
Yeah, that one is big room/Vini Vici on steroids lmao

The Peter Luts mix is pretty good and maybe just as good as the original for me.

I have always had a soft spot for the Peter Luts version, it instantly takes me back to 2000. Back then I also listened to the Wippenberg remix alot

Dido was an original member of Faithless before concentrating on her solo career. Her big album 'White Flag' was produced by her brother Rollo (The guy from Faithless)

Deffo a guilty pleasure this track, I've always liked the 'Wippenburg Remix' which takes the energy up a notch or two!

I once did a Facebook post on this classic track on the ‘Classic Trance’ group ran by Binary Finary. It was because i was annoyed at those people laughing about Castles in the sky. Christophe Chantzis -One of the producers who are Ian Van Dahl chipped in when it had got a bit steamy, It was awesome. He started by saying.

Christophe Chantzis - “After 22 years still talking about my song. Can't complain” 😊

- Sums it up perfectly I thought.

After my reply he said

“ - people are allowed their opinion, I don't mind. I wake up every day and do what I love. Life isn't that bad. Wish everyone a great day. Enjoy music”

That group is unhinged. The amount of gatekeeping on there by 60yo blokes with bedroom vinyl DJ setups who play to their cats on weekends is unreal :ROFLMAO:

Some on there are definitely hard to stomach but its also had some great posts. Binary Finary are Legends but yeah, some right funny folk everywhere on Facebook groups.

I googled ‘trance cat’ and was rather surprised by this 10 hr video.

I must admit, I wont be watching it all 🤔😆
