I love the melodic elements but the percussions are kinda weak. A more punchy kick and more drive like his old tracks would do wonders.

Yeah kinda feel the same. It's like there is a memo sent to all prog producers of today that groove/drive/rawness is not the one anymore. This isn't too bad though for percussion, relatively speaking. Could grow on me a lot this one because the melodies are v nice.

I saw this posted in a trance discord and was stunned to see Chable back, but this is pretty underwhelming. Going through his SoundCloud, he's had a few new releases that kind of fit the same bill - certainly different than most modern prog, but the rust is showing, as well as the modern influence.

It's just very fluffy, made for Instagram / social media. Old prog, like old trance, had a certain edge and bite to it. Nowadays being social media friendly is often the main criteria so you get watered down stuff like this. Understandable in a way but not for my taste.

Hit and miss. Melodic direction is good and I like it, but rest of you already covered the issues.

I still think it has all the subtlety of a sledgehammer when it comes to the melodic elements but hey, so do most old Nathan Fake tracks, and I like those. Maybe reminds me of some of the tunes from Clark - Body Riddle (goat album in my books)

Gave this a few listens. Whilst i do like the melodic ideas in this, as a whole the track falls a bit flat. Even though prog is repetitive by its very nature, I do think both the percussive elements and overall arrangement could do with more variation and ups-and-downs.

P.S. also sounds like a melodic Gai Barone track.
