I haven't listened to this to be honest. Still I think it is worthy of posting.

I don't like that sound at all, but it's not a trance album either, so I won't criticize it. For those who listen to progressive melodic house techno, maybe this is a good album.

Death of star would have been nice if it didn't have those vocals. Sounds like a fusion of London Grammar and house music.

Please can we stop force pushing these cheesy mainplayers of mainstream "trance" that had their peaks 15 years ago on this site?

I would love tf to be a platform for pushing/supporting something new and fresh. I def think a poll is in place. for or against mainstream names/labels/obviously not trance being posted, just too see where members/staff stand on this. not to go as far as banning it, but I genuinely think force pushing generic mainstream releases from armada/fsoe etc just does whatever there is left of a trance scene a disservice. I also suspect some members are asot/fsoe promotors/agents because they always post the same 3 recent releases from the cheese mainstream scene.

Awful imo. The blandest, most boring "Melodic Techno" with literally nothing distinctive about it, whole album could just as well have been produced by ARTBAT.

"Eternally" was a piece of hope for me but - overall - this album is not exciting. I need to say that mentioned track with Diandra and "Till We Fade" with Emma Hewitt are enjoyable. But whole album is much worse than "Watch The World", "We Are The Light" or even "Escape".

Yeah Vlad brought it up today. We are discussing options and will probably make some changes. Mainly due to the 500 0 reply threads we found in this section, which most of is the mainstream stuff. Probably will go for a quality over quantity enforcement soon.

To be fair, even though I am not all over this stuff (on the contrary really), I would be extremely careful of placing too strict restrictions of what stuff we could post here and what not. It way too easily goes to "my trance is better than your trance" kind of stuff which does not really benefit anyone.

yeah I agree with this. @Daysleeper 's sentiment is very much on point but you have to be carefull not throwing away the baby with the bathwater.

Maybe a good middle ground and fairly simple solution would be a designated section of thread for certain Labels & Artists who curn out mainstream stuff 24/7, but who just might have the occasional gem once in a blue moon, which could then, on request and much like the track of the week, be placed in the general releases section.

my 2 cents.

I havent heard the full album yet...will do soon. But Eternally is such a good progressive track. Its even better than some of the TF typical stuff posted here. I am strongly against banning such posts! Im not sure about the rest of the album, but I am pretty sure this is not pop album at all.

I would say that the best rule would be: Post what you think its quality, non generic and interesting and thats it! :)

What? I don't come here to check what tracks Daysleeper think is good. I like the variety everyone posts. There is always something good in every style.

Its been a while since I liked something from Markus Schulz. Really enjoying these: Light On, Stolen, More Than This, Guide Me.

Not trying to ban certain styles or anything, but 500 threads in this section with 0 replies is not good. It means no one finds it quality. Therefore maybe good to have more effort from users to try and post stuff they think is quality, and that will also (hopefully) resonate with the community.

I agree. I do think however if you have posted 20 threads in a month and only 1 or 2 have activity then you should probably apply self evaluation a bit more critically. Ultimately any 'rule' we come up with will be essentially asking users to think more carefully, without any specific criteria or enforcement. I don't mind the commercial stuff being shared btw, but so much of the un-engaged stuff is in this style.

One other solution we have discussed casually and could look into is a proper tagging and filtering system in this section, which allows users to hide/show styles or labels they like or don't like. Would have to think about it a bit more though, but it could work.

I don't always leave comments on tracks that interest me, I just click the thanks button. But if necessary, I can make comments. If it really helps in promoting interesting material.

Ah the good old discussion that I started years ago already.

What I notice mostly is "how" these topics are posted. Just an embed of some set with 2 hours length. That's it. No text. No motivation why the topic is created. Not a single thought. Just in your face. A set. Goodbye. Not even goodbye, actually.

Those threads are beyond useless. Try to make a pretty topic at least. Try to engage with users. It's not that difficult... But some users see this as a huge database and just slam everything in there without ever looking back.

Just make a rule that you can create 3 topics in a month. Would be fine.

On twitter I have certain words that filter out content. For example I have a keyword {trump} so I don’t receive news about him as it bores me.

Maybe this would work on this forum. I could add the word {armada} and I will never see it releases related to this

01. Markus Schulz & HALIENE - Death Of A Star (Original Mix) [3:43] nice chilled opener, ctachy poppy vocals, but really cool soundscape and melodies in the background 7/10
02. Markus Schulz & Melody Mane - Stay Gold (Original Mix) [5:00] this is more poppy and slightly more towards the EDM sound 5/10
03. Markus Schulz & Sarah De Warren - Light On (Original Mix) [7:25] another more poppy track in prog / techno template sound, but quite okay-ish 6/10
04. Markus Schulz & Diandra Faye - Eternally (Original Mix) [6:27] this is great, very atmospheric track, with mysterious melody, love it!! 8/10
05. Markus Schulz & Pretty Poison - Stolen (Original Mix) [4:05] back to more poppy sound, but quite enjoyable track 6/10
06. Markus Schulz & Dan Soleil - More Than This (Original Mix) [5:50] Fine deeper track 6,5/10
07. Markus Schulz & Shaun Jacobs - Guide Me (Original Mix) [5:05] pop track, the weakest so far 4/10
08. Markus Schulz & Radmila Lolly - I Fly To You (Original Mix) [4:58] deeper journey again 6/10
09. Markus Schulz - Voiceless (Original Mix) [6:06] first instrumental piece, the melodiy is not interesting, standart mainstream techno template track 5/10
10. Markus Schulz & Emma Hewitt - Till We Fade (Original Mix) [5:07] cool, again very spacey atmosphere, which I like 6,5/10
11. Markus Schulz - Liquid Night (Original Mix) [3:44] better of the two instrumentals, but still nothing special, astandart techno template 5/10
12. Markus Schulz & Adina Butar - Waves Of High (Original Mix) [4:24] just another modern techno template sound track 5/10

The whole album is a strange combination of poppy vocals and techno sounds. Some of the tracks are quite spacey and atmospheric. Some of them are quite similar to Basil o Glue, who is well respected on this site.
Its the best Schulz album in ages, but still not more than lets say 6,5/10
