He's remixed so many 2nd gen classics... Sirens of the Sea, Whiteroom, Solarcoaster, Shivers, Drifting Away. That ASOT mix has all of them. They feel like like reskins more than remixes, with this run of the mill consumer prog that takes the modern rulebook of prog components and arrangements and packages it for some Tulum beach bar's 7pm sound track during margarita hour. I'm being a hater, I know.

actually what you have described sounds pretty cool, such setting would need a well fitting music, what's bad about it? 🤔

I know, I know. I don’t think it’s bad music per se. I’m just bitter. I’m so sick of prog just being bland music for the masses, where averageness is the best we have, and the most celebrated. Marsh is literally the best prog producer on one of the worlds biggest prog labels and the more often than not the most we can hope for is a “it’s not bad” feeling at the end. Even what the underground guys label as “prog” is a huge stretch, with no journey or creative flair. Don’t get me wrong Marsh he has some very nice tracks too but all of those remixes seem like AI made a remix with an instruction book.
