Are they worth taking? This is Ferry Corsten one he makes a 80's style track which I would love to know if he ever released it or not.

But I have seen some from Hans Zimmer, Armin and some others are they worth taking?

I'm sure they are very interesting. I don't like paying for this kind of stuff though. Most things you'd learn are on Youtube too. Or self-teaching, will get you far too. It's a cool insight with big names though. If these were available for free somewhere I'd sure watch them.

Never felt inclined to look into them myself, I’ve heard they can be quite hit or miss.

That said, I’ve heard Giuseppe Ottoviani’s is supposed to be really good, but everyone I know who has done it all sound the same.
So if you want to become one of GO’s clones and make music that sounds the same as everything that comes out on his label, then maybe that would be a good place to start :p

I am an amateur. I think these are good things, but don't pay for them! I believe that understanding the approach of the best artists is the key to success. I don't mean to imitate them, but to understand what drives them. in my case, these are very elementary principles. I'm at a stage where I think some people were more lucky and that's why everyone knows them, and I still wonder why some people failed. it is very demotivating for me. it seems a lot depends on your social skills, contacts, rather than your technical skills. a spark in the tunnel for people with an open mind and not getting caught up in current or past trends

I think this forum is in some ways not special because there are similar rules here as in the world of show business.

THERE WILL FIND PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR SKILLS AT THE FORUM

The only class I ever considered is the one from EDM tips, Will is absolutely amazing and can recreate any music style, way more versatile than these guys. Also his students topped beatport so many times in the last two years.

Zoya is a student of his and in the last two years she released on all major labels - Pure Trance, Anjunabeats, Black Hole, UV.

Airwave Masterclass: the keys to a modern track - 3hrs - EN - 49€ Zoom conference

Let me introduce myself, Airwave, musician and sound designer since 1996, I've worked with some of the biggest names in EDM, composed music for several movies for which I've won awards, trailers, and commercials, and at the same time developed factory presets for many commercial hardware and software synths, notably for Korg and Plugin Alliance.

I'm lucky enough to wear many hats that allow me to quickly find a solution to every situation in the audio creative world. And... I've also been a teacher in MAO and Sound Design for many years in my hometown, even going through the... teacher's block (and I can tell you how good an exercise this audience is!).

My strong point is to always manage to do well with very little, and this is what I invite you to discover in this new Masterclass.

The 3 chapters covered during these 180 minutes are very important to me. Together they represent the art of producing with the necessary basics that allow you to always succeed in your production, whatever the genre.

The Masterclass will alternate between Logic and Ableton Live in order to cover as many people and situations as possible.

Preamble: the right tools, a good headset (MDR-7506 or DT770 80Ohm), the plugin to have apart from your built-in plugins: Shaperbox 3.

The 3 chapters will be interspersed with a question and answer session directly related to the chapter discussed.

Chapter 1 (approx 60 minutes): setting up a template already pre-assembled at the opening of a project: what for? Things to do to start. Creating a template in Logic and Ableton Live. Set up the routing in busses or subgroups, send and return for each bus, saturation and compression, in which order? Equalize where in the mix? The importance of mono compatibility. How to cut the sound for perfect mono compatibility? Sending and returning effects. Setting up the reference track in a DAW. Measurement tools: oscilloscope, spectrum, goniometer). Ozone Imager Free, a useful tool!

Chapter 2 (about 60 minutes): building a production around a kick and a bass well placed and well mixed together for a great beat. The golden rules to respect. The art of saturation in transparency for more clarity. Multiband saturation yes, but for what purpose? The art of listening to the reference. The cut&boost technique (Channel EQ, TubeEQ). The 200 to 600hz dung. The golden rule of kick and bass tuning and their timing (Shaperbox 3). The golden trick to catch a weak or too soft kick (Logic Pro X Autofilter, ConsoleEQ, and Shaperbox 3). The side chain technique for low frequencies (Logic Pro PhatFX and StepFX, Live Multiband, Shaperbox 3). Other instrument families and how to place them in a mix. Cutting to avoid clashes. Mixing vocals in a track.

Chapter 3 (60 minutes): my production tips and tricks for unique effects in a track. The RingVerbLifter. Paulshaping vocals (PaulXstretch, Shaperbox). Reconstructing a Shimmer effect in Ableton Live for nothing. Steal a kick from an existing track with Shaperbox 3 or Ableton Live. The echo resampling technique. The climax cut: how to cut a clean climax for more impact.
