OUT MiG-29 - Digital Dreamscapes [1Ø PILLS MATE]

One of the best recent releases I've heard. 2021 but could be 1995. The genres aren't very clear, the lines between them are blurry and the synths amazing.

It sounds heavily inspired by the 90s stuff but still musically very worthy. That was my main bone I had to pick with the revival scene. But this has completely blown me away. It can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the stuff it is inspired by. This release doesn't just encapsulate the sound well, but also the experimentation of the 90s, playing around, and finally, creating good music.

New Generation and Digital Dreamscapes the clear standouts. Blown away by both, but I think the title track is a stunning piece of music overall, and takes the cake for me.

Played Water Visions out in my 2021 yearmix! It's a fantastic release indeed, definitely goes the extra mile in an attempt to stand out and feel genuine, except Higher State which feels kind in the same boat as the rest of the housier nutrance. I think my favorite is actually Digital Dreamscapes, feels so lush and fresh. The synth layering is so harmonious.

I fell in love with the title track after 2nd listen only - you might not but it was pretty strange to see a comment about the whole album within 13 minutes of discovering it.

Don't worry, I will write an essay to Daysleeper as to why he's getting banned over this. I've collected more than 100 bullet points over the years and now I finally have a strong enough case against him

It was @Devito who got me on this initially before I shared with Gagi. Water Visions was in his top 2022. Is a really nice EP, I think Digital Dreamscape and Water Visions are my top picks. Beautiful stuff

I agree, it needs proper listens. I like it, I def do. Just need to be in the right mood.

Okay, Ive listened more extensivley to the tracks now. Its all pretty darn good, but still not mindblown (thats hard for me).

I actually like the two middle tracks (spacer worlds and tomorrows bliss) of the ep most, They dont have same restrictive beat/groove like the other tracks have. They all are a bit repetitiv for my personal taste, and I get that most old trance in this style was repetitiv, but the old stuff were almost always good at making repetitiv tracks less repetitiv (atleast the great ones) . They had better arrangements and dont lack in interesting development/energy build. This is more like a trance/detroit techno/ acid house/breakbeat hybrid sort of and maybe cant compare with the german/uk stufff from the 90s. I actually think new generation and digital dreamscapes are the weakest in terms of interesting developement and fun-ness. He/they really nail the sound-design though, its almost spot on in all the tracks.

Tomorrows bliss is gorgeous. It reminds me of art of trance's downtempo stuff. It really SOUNDS great. Digital Dreamscapes has to much echo/reverb for me and not the biggest fan of that slow-down effect. Great bassline though, and really nice ambience. Lush and spacious. Gets a little monotone though, in the end. Higher States sound like the typical 90s atmospheric house number. Good but not terribly exciting. Water Visions is also good. Perfect for a mid-mix set track.

I voted 'Spacer Worlds' as my NO.1 Trance track of 2021 ... maybe today I would vote for 'Sunju Hargun - ٹرانس (Eternal Injection Mix)' but in the days I was really excited from the sound and atmosphere of 'Digital Dreamscapes'.. still a 10/10 EP
