Most played Trance tracks on Youtube?

Cheers mate..it does look like its one of the most played Chilled Trance tracks ever on YT...which is crazy for me.

Love it. Im planning to do Alphavile ‘Forever young’ some time and get my step daughter to sing on it. ( shes just released an album and has a gorgeous voice)

But yeah, I do think your movie theme track doesn't belong in that list with songs full of beats and synths.

If your Gladiator remake is the greatest movie score theme ambient lounge chillout (or however you wanna call it) on Youtube, I would praise you for it. But yeah... obviously it has nothing do with trance.

If I play it to my whole office nobody will say it's trance. That means, it's not trance. They will say it's classical. Or a movie score. Or maybe ambient. Lounge music. Whatever.

Ah, that Time remix is a great example... I am sorry to say, but it shows why your remake has so much views as well. It's one of the most known music scores ever. So yeah... the target group who listens to that is very big. Most people who click on this remix, or your remake, don't even know what the meaning is of the word "Remix". They simply click on something they relate to the movie.

The 'office people' clearly dont know the sound or history of Chilled Trance. Micheal Woods is viewed as the optimome of 'Chilled Trance'...his remixes of Silence,Cafe del Mar - my style is exactly like that - and probably even more Trancey. My Hans Zimmer remake is done in that 'Chilled Trance' style. If you speed that up and stick a beat on - its Trance. If you find any more sub genres of Trance that should be in this list - as in Psy-Trance ot Hard Trance - please send over the links!

Also,are you saying my remakes of Rank 1 - Airwave and Cern - The Message arnt Chilled Trance?? Theyre done in exactly the same style at the Zimmer one.

I do indeed think they are not trance. The Airwave and Cern are a maybe bit closer, because you used that upfront arpeggio in it. That's something typically used in trance. Before you say there's an arp in Gladiator as well. Maybe, but they are so slow and soft in the background that it feels like strings.

Anyway, to conclude, I think "chilled trance" is not a genre. Silence (Michael Woods Remix) is imo not trance either. It has nothing to do with the genre at all.

Trance is music that would be played on let's say Trance Energy.

I mean, let's face it, your remakes sound way closer to music like this:


Your music is a perhaps a bit more thematic, but that's to be expected since you base it on famous melodies.

But to conclude, I would say you make (nice) ambient music. Which some may refer to as "chill-out" or "lounge".

I will be doing soon...something like i did to this,which started as a Chilled Trance track. Of course Chilled trance is a sub genre. Youre the first person ive heard who have said its not lol. Micheal Woods is widely regarded as Chilled Trance with those remixes. These chilled tracks are basically a slowed down version of my uplifting/space Trance i make.

Its still Trance haha. Tbh,the Hans Zimmer remix views are heavily inflated because of the Zimmer/Gladiator tie-in.....i wouldnt put it in my top 20 productions. Im much more proud of the 4 million plays on my 'Cern - The Message' remix,the original was on ASOT label,and it seems to have more 10X more plays than the original. Thats not right imo,the original Nothern mix is a Trance classic...but people have connected with that slower chilled Trance sound that i created with this.

Out Of The Blue has 3.3M....that is incredibly low,and im really surprised.

I think a whole sleuth of youtube videos got culled after 2014. Its likely that some massive numbers on unofficial videos were killed.

It happened to one of my favourite tracks, which has 10s of millions, deleted and now the re-upload is far far less.
