Are you guys for real? Trancehaters ?

Actually its the other way around if anything its you who hate "real trance" but you use this reverse passive-agressivness victim-hood method here because its just a flat out lie, no one on here "hates" trance, just your modern template steroid trance, but thats far from the only defintion of trance, if trance at all imo. Its so silly reading this from supposedly grown up men (mostly) ???? I mean yeah, theres sometimes undeserved bashing, negativity and harsh critisism, but saying something like uuuhh you hate trance, its the most imatture shit i've ever read in here.

The mainstream trance scene is just a orgy of asslicking over generic productions and beatport positions.

I have to say that I find the comments calling people 'trance haters' ridiculous too. That is just an attempt to shame people who don't agree with a certain point of view. Instead of name calling and trying to shame, why not address some of the criticisms that are being made. As far as I can see, all of the criticisms are valid. There is always a good explanation as to why someone doesn't like a track. None of these criticisms are ever addressed. That is the real problem and not people being negative about a particular track/style.

However, there is one thing I would like to point out repeatedly. Haters of the modern trance scene are still clicking these threads just to go there and bash the tracks and listeners while the other side usually never do this. I would never even click on a thread with a track that I know is out of my range of liking. So yeah I agree there are a lot of haters, mostly the prog and anti-steroid guys (but not all!)

I understand that this thread is tempting cause there are lots of comments, but was this really necessary?

I liked this and was one who purchased the track on beatoort, but that’s not to say I don’t agree with the critics that it’s just another production that sounds like 1000 other producers. But sometimes music just works for us, and those things don’t matter. We’re there no classics that also followed the same pattern 100’s other did and also making it a templated a approach?

New Trance producers should strive to do something that makes them somewhat unique and not generic, but for a first release I think it’s ok to replicate existing sounds your love and build from there. Who are your influences @MurZo?

It depends what your goals are really.
I just make whatever I feel like. Sometimes labels like it and sign it, sometimes I end up putting it out myself as a self release.

If you are actually looking to ‘climb the ladder’ so to speak and make a big name for yourself, there are going to be certain labels you need to aim for and a lot of them have a certain sound that they want.

Unless you are already an established name, then in which case there is more wiggle room for you to do something different, for newer producers it’s a bit of a minefield.

To be honest… no.

I think the (nothing recent) classics that have their own distinct sound. Sometimes there’s a clear producer ‘sound’, but not various artists who all sound alike.

Fair enough guys. I don’t have strong opinions on my statement or deep knowledge on classic history. The legends aside though, I’m sure many smaller and upcoming producers used those greats as templates for their own work, but let’s face it it was never at the extent we see today.

Half of the scene needs to come to terms with the reality they have dire taste in Trance music and accept the well descended criticisms. The other half needs to stfu for once and get over the fact that tastes differinstead of banging on about same thing for 10 years 😆 #trancefamily
