Hello all, making a small rule addition to the Upcoming Release section, with a goal of reducing the amount of 0 and low reply threads and encouraging instead higher quality of tracks being shared that are of interest to users here. We found about 500 low activity threads since the site was re-platformed. From now on we’ll review threads for consistent low activity (starting from today) and address if it gets too high. This rule change is a nice easy first step to see if we can trend in the right direction. We’ll review and see if we should be more aggressive or flexible with it at the end of the year.

Here are the new rules for this section:

Users must aim to post high quality and engaging releases in this section and reduce low activity threads. Before posting, consider forum members, artist and label and what will likely resonate. User who regularly post low activity based threads will be sent a friendly reminder. If consistently posting we’ll give more enforced instruction and probably delete the low engaged ones. Low activity thread is defined as less than 2 likes and/or replies on a thread - not including messages from the original poster.

Still looking to improve this section so, you can leave suggestions here if you have them. Eventually we will look into if filtering can be done. That way if you never want to see an Armada release, or a JOOF one, you can apply a filter. Just an idea for now! Cheers.

That's not entirely true; a while back I removed just as much (if not more) of low-activity threads.

But in general, I believe this solves two things:

1. More engagement on the forum with music of better quality being shared.
2. Less negative replies - by not replying to things you deem low-quality, you make them have very little replies. We monitor and act.

But in the end, this is the forum of us all. Understand we all have different tastes, and let's make sure everyone enjoys it.

What about if the 2 or more replies are just hating or trolling.

Good rules none the less.

Fair point, we will likely not include those in the count, whilst continuing to discourage excessive negativity that is not contrusctive.
